I get something like this, only just near-faints. I take a huge hit, immediately stand up, exhale the hit, start walking and very soon feel myself starting to blackout/faint. I don't necessarily feel myself get higher or anything, just the fainting thing, and it only happens if I've been sitting for a while. I never actually faint though, I just lose most of my muscle control and come back right before my eyes fully close.....it's weird.

I always attributed it to something similar to what you said; a sudden change in blood pressure or something similar. I've seen my friend do it a few times as well; one time he landed his 230-lb heft right on top of me and the box of pizza I was holding.....I was so pissed because I didn't realize what happened and thought he was just being a dick. Thankfully it was only Domino's =D

That's called Vasovagal Syncope: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasovagal_episode

Happens frequently to old people when they are "bearing down" ...

I was diagnosed with that a couple years ago, it still happens quite frequently. Every time I stood up, my heart would stop... It happened in the hospital wear I was admitted, my mom was standing over me at the time it 'really' happened. My heart was completely stopped for ~15seconds, it was an insane experience. I don't really understand what I felt, but I really enjoyed the sensation of going in and out of consciousness.

I get this all the time! I've always told my friends that I'd never notice how high I actually am until I stand up after smoking a joint. I thought this happened to everyone, really.

Sounds like a whitey to me, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitey_%28drugs%29.

Non medical person advice. If it was me and I wasnt high enough to be completly baked and getting them all the time, I would get a check up just for piece of mind.

You think it might be some kind of a medical problem/condition? Eek, I hope not. I like getting high, a lot. :(

This happens to me on occasion. I think it most happens when i smoke large quantities for one sitting and then suddenly get up to do something. It sucks when it happens on days i smoke b4 school because it makes it difficult to get ready.

The standing up thing might just be a headrush. I get those bad sometimes. I stand up after a long time lounging on the couch and everything gets all fuzzy and I feel disconnected and weird for a bit. Once I even passed out from it. I hear it's caused by low blood pressure, but I'm not sure on that one.

I do enjoy it also, for the most part, I just have to sit down and rest or I am not sure what might happen.

The only time I don't really like it is when I am trying to enjoy a 'functional high' (like as in, avoiding the couch lock and getting out and doing things, running errands, interacting with people). If I get as high as I described above, I really only like to be around my husband/close friends or whatever so the paranoia doesn't bog me down.

It is good to know that this happens to other people. I've done this before while walking my dog. I'll take a big hit and whoom, everything starts to shrink in my vision. It gets overwhelming sometimes I just go to one knee to keep my balance. Crazy. My dog just looks at me like, C'mon man, suck it up.

That's weird. I threw up once while smoking, and oddly it wasnt THAT much but for some reason it got me really high. Other than that weed has never made me feel sick AT ALL.

when i smoke a little too much i begin to have similar actions. i would go somewhere and forget how i even got there. but if i do a wake and bake and smoke throughout the day i begin feeling sick. i start feeling like i have to vomit and i get a headache and my body will start acheing. i really dont know why my body reacts that way. it even happens after im done with a bowl or joint or blunt etc. and like 20 mins later i smoke another one. and i feel that way. i just started smokeing weed earlier this year so i think it could also be that im not an experienced enough smoker. does anyone know how to get rid of that feeling?

I think i know exactly what you are talking about. A few days ago i smoked a bowl to the face, and i went inside to make some waffles and i just felt extremely high. I went and laid on my bed and closed my eyes for a few mintues and the intense high went away. It's the first time it happened to me though, and hasn't happened since. So im not really sure what causes that "im so high i think ill be sick" feeling.

Stay high!!

Sounds like a whiteout/fainting to me. Happens occasionally to me. Usually a sign of low blood pressure or even oxygen, especially when happening immediately after standing up. I've been told smoking has some connection to low blood pressure, but I've never really been curious enough to research it.

I guess this would be the correct term for it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syncope_(medicine)
