Canada eh?

You can try asking your doctor about it, but they generally won't approve it as a category 2 MMAR exemption unless you've tried a bunch of other treatment (last resort, unknown side effects, etc)

I wouldn't go in with the expectation that you'll get it because you'll be more than likely disappointed. If you're patient and your doctor is willing to use it as a last resort, just jump through the hoops. Or maybe luck out and have a doctor that will let you. You should at least ask, and if refused, ask for that reason in writing so that if you're ever arrested, it can be admitted as evidence of the current laws not getting medicine to those that need it.

At the end of the day, you're still treating symptoms. (I have this as well) Look into fixing the curvature of the spine, anything short of a halo. Be willing to do anything to stop the pain and your options increase.

Yeah, I've been thinking about the surgery they do, where they straighten the spine with rods. That could be an alternative, but an extreme one. And yeah, I'm not sitting here with my fingers crossed or anything, I know there's a pretty low chance of actually succeeding.
