Medical Marijuana for Scoliosis? (self.Marijuana)

I'm young (19) and I have Scoliosis. For those who don't know, Scoliosis is a severe curvature of the spine (look it up for more in-depth explanation) and I have it mildly, compared with other cases I've seen. I smoke weed daily, and I also suffer from pretty bad back pain. The top of my spine is curved quite a bit; so much so, that I lose about 2 inches of height when I slouch. My back grows naturally curved because of the Scoliosis, so I have to make my spine straight. When I smoke dope, the pain is still there, it's just quite dull, compared to when I'm sober. I live in Canada, and I've been thinking of medical marijuana for quite a while now. Does anybody know how to apply for it, or, if you have experience with medical dope, what my chances might be of attaining some? I'm not getting my hopes up, just think it's worth a try.

You can try asking your doctor about it, but they generally won't approve it as a category 2 MMAR exemption unless you've tried a bunch of other treatment (last resort, unknown side effects, etc)

I wouldn't go in with the expectation that you'll get it because you'll be more than likely disappointed. If you're patient and your doctor is willing to use it as a last resort, just jump through the hoops. Or maybe luck out and have a doctor that will let you. You should at least ask, and if refused, ask for that reason in writing so that if you're ever arrested, it can be admitted as evidence of the current laws not getting medicine to those that need it.

At the end of the day, you're still treating symptoms. (I have this as well) Look into fixing the curvature of the spine, anything short of a halo. Be willing to do anything to stop the pain and your options increase.
