You're friend is laughably ignorant.

A substance that is non physically addictive, impossible to over dose on, that doesn't make you violent, and doesn't cause cancer (actually shown to combat cancer) is illegal. Yet a drug that causes thousands of overdoses a year, cancer of the throat, and makes people violent, is perfectly legal to consume as much as you want (alcohol).

The goods: makes you feel awesome, opens your mind, makes things a lot more fun, new appreciation for the arts, oh and of course it treats lots of different disorders.

The bads: mmmm.... some people don't like the smell.

Make her watch "the union" with you. You should watch it too.

Just show her The Union. She'll either get up in the middle of it in pure embarrassment of being wrong, or she'll become one more educated pupil.

I read in a study that cigarettes and weed DO NOT have the same carcinogenic value. Weed actually has a lower amount of carcinogens and is not linked to lung cancer in another study I've read. I wish I had them on hand.

Um... I'll try to help her out with the worst things that I can think of

BAD

Munchies make you hungry and make junk food more delicious. So if you don't have self control you might get fat.

Makes sitting on the couch doing nothing fun, but really name one person who's productive 100% of the time and I'll show you a tweaker.

It makes you cough.

If you smoke too much it can lead to a panic attack, but that can be resolved from smoking less. Too much of anything is never fun.

While high, your short term memory isn't as good. That's not to say everything will go into one ear and out the other. Anything that you find particularly interesting has a good probability of sticking. The short term memory thing might very well just be that the information that they wanted the high people to memorize was boring.

A LOT of people come up with bullshit theories while high, but then again a lot of people are idiots.

While not anywhere even relatively close to the effect of alcohol, it's probably a good idea not to drive on it. (Benzodiazapines such as Xanax that effect the exact same pathways as alcohol are legal to drive on for some reason though.)

I'll post more later if I think of any.

It's not all roses and sunshine, as all drugs require moderation to truly be enjoyed safely, but honestly it's not all that bad.

What are some of her concerns? I'm sure we could blow them out of the water.
