Make that 9 states - Arkansas

[–]Manonthemoon7 7 points8 points ago

Make that 10, massachusetts added a bill to legalize too. I can't supply the link cause I am on my mobile.

I think this is the bill you're talking about. H.1371?

[–]proud_to_be_a_merkin 0 points1 point ago

What the fuck?

To be clear... Even though Massachusetts voted to decriminalize, you could still be arrested, with any amount, for intent to distribute even if there was no intention of sale?

What the actual fuck?

H 1371, or similar bills, has been submitted to the state legislature for several sessions, much like the medical marijuana bill that Rep. Sanchez kills every year.

H 1371 will not make it out of committee this year. The only way to pass any reform bills in Massachusetts is by placing a binding question on the November ballot, like we did with Question 2 in 2008 and we will see with medical marijuana this year (already certified for the ballot, and will pass with at least 80% approval.

Arkansas has been trying for a while. Northwest Arkansas here, just fyi

Come on, one of these has to work. All we need is one and the whole thing will cascade.

There are more than 8 states with bills legalization bills before the state legislature, however these bills are unlikely to move beyond committee. The states this article talks about are states that could potentially have legalization questions on the November ballot for voters to decide on.

There is a much more detailed article here.

C'mon Florida!!

I'm actually looking forward more to the future support of permitting the hemp industry to begin and flourish. That alone would help our farming industry get on track and recover.

Legalizing cannabis is nice too.

I will give my estimates for the odds of which states will legalize. Remember this year is going to be better then 2010 because there will be more young people voting the because it is a presidential election. These are the odds that I think they will pass at:

California - 75%

Colorado - 50%

Michigan - 20%

Missouri - 10%

Montana - 10%

Nebraska - 10%

Oregon - 30%

Washington - 40%

In Washington all the dispensary owners are already on the news saying they will vote no because of the legal driving limit. I understand where they are coming from but I do believe it would require probable cause, alcohol is regulated and they don't just ask random sober people to get out of the car and take a sobriety test. THC is obviously gonna stay in your system longer and I have no idea how the testing process will work. In the end we need to legalize it, and people should not be driving high so it has my vote. Seattle is decriminalized so I suppose it doesn't matter as much for me but it would be nice for everyone else to not worry so much.

HA! They do that all the time here in Arizona. All you have to do to get pulled over anywhere is to make one tiny mistake. Tires on the lane lines? Cop can pull you over.

This will decide which state I move to once I graduate after next semester.

This may be the year I finally decide to register to vote

[–]whitoreo 12 points13 points ago

I'm sad.

[–]JustAnotherCracka 0 points1 point ago

That I'm thinking about registering to vote, or that I haven't yet?

[–]whitoreo 0 points1 point ago

That your statement seems so apathetic towards the voting process. And that even this isn't enough to get you to commit. (You use the word 'might') I understand though, i too wonder if my vote really, really makes a diff.. but it does. Go vote. Lets take back this country of ours.

[–]JustAnotherCracka 0 points1 point ago

The main reason I haven't is because I don't feel my vote matters. But you make a good point, it truly doesn't matter if I don't use it.

[–]whitoreo 0 points1 point ago

I don't fault you. At first I was angry at you... but then I realized I was angry at the system for making you think this way. Many (most) of us do. It's what they want. They don't want people, who don't want what they want, voting. Period. So... stop doing what they want you to do. (nothing) Let us start taking back this country of OURS.
