Wait a second I knew he was strip searched before...but in front of other students? Fire every fuckface involved with that one because that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Way to make one of the worst years ever for any kid even worse.

Might be just my own thinking here, but in any other country..this would be considered to be an outrage of sorts. People would be up in arms, names would be taken and asses would be kicked [metaphorically, of course.] But nope, here in 'Merica, we're "fighting" a "WAR" on "drugs", so we can't be bothered by petty things such as facts, common sense or basic human decency. Nahhhh, paid vacation for the piece of shit "officer" [italics and quotes for extra sarcasm] who -sigh- masterminded this whole operation. Disgusting if you ask me.

Fired is not enough, there should be jail time for this.

How is there not a federal case when an adult stripped a child naked, and in front of other children no less!?

Are you thinking grounds for a sexual assault case?

[–]twcaiwh 1 point2 points ago

I think there are very strong grounds for it, yes. Bottom line, the vice principal removed a child's clothes, in public, and against their will. Not to mention even if it he gave permission (due to coercion, fear, etc) a minor cannot give legal consent.

I'm raising my kid to know that if some heavy handed authority tries to make him do something uncomfortable he is allowed to fight them tooth and nail. Furthermore he's got a phone and if he calls me saying something is trying to strip search him I will drop everything and come to his school with a baseball bat and some fucking administrator is going to the hospital.

I'm pretty sure that's a good way to land him with an assault on a police officer charge. It would be far better to teach him his rights in any situation he may be with an officer. You aren't going to get anywhere by literally fighting the law, you'll only fuck yourself over.

Unfortunately, it's far better to have your rights violated for a short time, document the situation as best you can, and then take legal action.

In this case, based on my research, it's quite clear that it violates a very similar Supreme Court ruling in 2009, so I think it's likely he will win his case. Now, if he had started assaulting the officer during the strip search, it's likely the case would go another way.

I love the idea of standing up for someone's own rights, but sometimes there are just smarter ways to do things.

Unfortunately, the "right way" gets offending officials a week or two of paid vacation and, when they get back, the dust is swept under the rug.

I don't think that is true anymore. You are trying to pretend that the system as we know it still works. It doesn't. The supreme court are the whores who made corporations into people remember? I'm supposed to trust those corrupt dickwads with securing the rights of myself and my offspring? Sorry I'm not going buying that.

WTF! America why do breed stupid people?

Case in point much, eh?

Edit :: j/k, of course ;) Everyone makes typoes!

The irony in this is too funny.

Good job, we have to take every opportunity to fuck over marijuana haters.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. They won't print the name of the kid but print the name of his mother?

What a fucking joke. They might as well have printed the name of the kid.

This is on top of the obvious outrage over the entire incident.
