You can use silver weapons bro.

Oh you can also use daedric or enchanted weapons (like one with an on hit fire effect).

Just not Enchanted Weapons with Frost on Strike. MOST of Ethereal mobs are resistant to Frost.

That's one thing I tried earlier. I'm Nordic, so I used my frost race skill to kill it quickly. Shit didn't work at all.

Yeah, if the top left says, "<Damage Type> was resisted", it don't work.

Correct; the frost damage will be resisted, but the physical damage from the base weapon will still hit.

Lightning does a ton of damage to them (i'm assuming you're talking about the Ethereal warriors/wolves that are added by OOO.)

Oh hell yes. Totally going to try to find some.

This worked wonders.

If you put any enchantment on a weapon (even frost) and the weapon will permanently damage mobs that are immune to physical damage, even after the weapon is out of charge. I usually put a low level enchant because it's cheaper that way and I don't ever have to recharge it. Keep in mind that when the weapon is out of charge the bonus damage will vanish, but the weapon's base damage is somehow no longer considered physical by physical-resistant mobs.

Silver weapons, bound weapons, and daedric weapons.

First time I encountered a ghost, I saw the "damage resisted", I booked it out of there and the damn thing followed me out of the ruins into the countryside.
