I wish I could say that I never had to touch the "brown pound" But sadly living here in mid missouri that was par for the course during school. Paying 30 bucks a 1/8 during those years... I consider it paying my dues. Now having smoked the crappiest weed, and having no other choice. I can really appreciate the sweet taste of home grown, hydroponic, properly cured and grown to my exact specs during harvest, sweet buds.

I am very vocal about people not buying nugs to this day. Growing your own is so damn easy, covert and rewarding that only in the most rare of situations can I see someone not growing their own little stash. After harvest time I always make it feel like christmas. We just went over to a little party last night. Bunch of us vets sitting around taking about life, college and just having a good time. A friend of a friend of a friend asks if it is cool if we step out back and have a smoke. This kid is straight out of the airforce, and can not be more than 21. He has a little baggie of some pressed bricked weed. Typical brownish/green. I ask him if thats what he usually smokes, he says sure. I smile and grab my sampler box out of my cooler. Harvest time just happened, so there was 8 different strains that I had carefully cultivated, and harvested at peak times for each strain. I showed him the difference between a heavy sativia ( Jock Horror) and a heavy indicia ( swiss cheese) I was putting on a cannabis clinic for all the guys. :) best part is, when it was time to go. I left all my samples there. Free of charge, and told the guys to divide it as they wanted. This poor kid was about to shit his pants. You could just see his brain cranking through the thought process of how a guy would be more than willing to just give away about 2 1/2 oz of TOP shelf green. I told him the reason I do this is because I always wanted someone to do the same for me. None of that pay it forward shit, just promise me you will never smoke that crap again. When you are amongst friends, you should have no worries at all.

Next week I invited all the guys over for a culinary cannabis clinic :) The last CCC we had I had three of the guys ask me to build them their own little grow box, so they could share in the pleasure.

When I first started smoking weed (15) all you could get was that shitty schwag. I didn't really gain access to dank (or even mids-decent) until around 17 I'm pretty sure. I may be exaggerating this timespan. It was a long time ago and is hard to remember.

The first weed I ever smoked was out of a fooking doorstop (appropriated from the HS) under a bridge and the second time was out of pop can!

Ahhhh this reminds me of the first time I ever smoked...

I was in the car with my brother and one of my best friends. We were on our way to see Avatar at IMAX, and I was pumped. Right as we pull into the parking lot, though, my brother opens a little compartment and pulls out a small glass piece as well as a jar filled with the greatest weed I have ever layed my eyes upon. It was bright, bright green covered with bright orange hairs and it was so so sticky.

Anyway, after taking my first and only hit after my brother assured me this was "one and done" weed, I walked into the theater, watched 25 minutes of Avatar, and feel asleep for 2 and a half hours. All in all, a great day.

tl;dr On my first ever sesh, I took one hit, walked into Avatar, and promptly slept through the whole experience.

Edit: Mom taught me and my two best friends how to roll a joint about a year after I started.

I smoke very well rolled european style j's of dirt thank you very much. The fancy stuff is nice now and again but why would I spend 3x cost for something that will last 1/3 of the time. Plus I actually like smoking. All my "fancy smoking" friends (aka most all my friends) swear they hate dirt, BUT eveytime they smoke with me they get 10'd as swear it's "some good shit". HA!

At one point or another I have smoked out of just about everything you could imagine ( including fresh maple leaves rolled up when we had nothing else ). That said, I very quickly nabbed a sherlock bubbler, bong, pipe, and eventually Volcano. I can only justify the expense because it is medical and helps me to , you know, live. I've been a (8) in a doctors office and been told I need to blaze more because my serum levels arent high enough to do what they want it to. Basically i'm under strict orders to remain (8+) at all times and tell ya what its like a job.

My parents ditched me on my 19th birthday and went to see The Who at Madison Square Gardens. Naturally my (then) room mates threw a party for me and I got high for the first time. My first smoking experience was crammed in a 10x10 college apartment bedroom with 14 people all sharing a series of bongs, bubblers and one hitters and smoking through several ounces of weed.

Still can't say whether I would have rather done that or been invited to travel to NYC to see The Who (just because its The Who). This, of course, is on the grounds that I would have ended up smoking anyway.

When I was young and at boarding school which was placed in a small town, the only source of weed was what was called standard hash, usually just pressed plants, rock hard, induced moreoften headache and a small buzz than anything else. Hence we smoked the buckets to feel something. Now that im somewhat grownup I only smoke quality green and occationally highgrade hash. Nothing worse than getting a friend to buy weed and he turns up with all stems and stuff. Im glad that rarely happens :)

Sadly prices where I live went up by round 50% for quality weed over the last 5 years, so im growing my own, which is WAY better :)

I actually got straight into the business of skinning a Garcia-Vegas Cigarillo and loading it up with as much dank fire as you can imagine. This is only because my brother who is 5 years older than me got me into it, and was the only person i smoked around. Oddly enough after that happened for a year, and my brother moved away, I retraced my steps, never getting shitty weed but sometimes finding ulterior ways to smoke due to lack of blunt wraps, zig zags, rizzlas, pipes, bubblers, bongs, gravity bong, and anything else. The worst was, a tinfoil bowl stuck into the shaft of a pen. That worked, but was pretty awful!

edit: and by tinfoil bowl, i mean i used the tip of a pencil to roll the tinfoil sheet into a cone.

My "first time" was with a glass bowl I bought and some high mids I had a friend pick up for me. Didn't know much about it, just that the herb was $40 an eighth and some of the best in town. For a little while I smoked cheapo $25/eigth mids but lately it's all been high mids and chron. Only bought cheap mexican mids once because I had been dry for a week and felt like getting high.

This might not be seen now, but the first time I tried smoking was a hashspliff with a friend. We were at a other friend's studentappartment where we also ate some shrooms. Pretty wicked night. I had to ride my bike home up and down some MASSIVE hills (they seemed massive atleast), and when I got home I barely dodged my family and went to bed. When I closed my eyes I saw the Care Bears run over a rainbow shooting lasers out their stomach. I tried opening my eyes saying "calm the fuck down.. it's just the shrooms".. but the freaking massive awesome hash my friend got made my eyelids waaay too heavy.. I slept awesome.

The day after my mom was getting married and my uncle's wife kept complaining about how she could never get a picture of me with my eyes open.. hahahah... :D

I skipped that phase, and recently unfortunately experienced it. A friend's roommate "thought" he was getting good weed, turned out it was $60/eighth Mexican brick weed that was pretty terrible. We got him some good stuff and his mind was fucking blown. I was also back home visiting friends, they knew a guy that had "pretty good stuff" for $140 an ounce, mind fucking blown, we get some. It was terrible. Awful brick stuff that did nothing but give me a headache and leave me sober. Never again.

By the time I got in the game, it was nothing but the best quality. The few times I had smoked in college didn't seem to have much of an effect, either. We did buy random middies or whatever was available for a long time though. Only in the past year has it been name brand only. (And I couldn't imagine anything else anymore)

I didn't smoke until college when I was about 18.

It was pretty decent mids. I only smoked with friends so I didn't learn how to roll.

I started smoking pretty regularly a few months later and found a hookup with high grade. But I still only smoked pipes and blunts so I never learned to roll proper.

Then I got a place to myself and got a nice glass piece.

6 Years later and I finally got around to rolling with decent technique. It just sort of clicked one day and now I can roll dope cones.

So yeah...

I didn't learn to roll properly until 6 years in.
