They seem to be going for a kid friendly image, so it seems unlikely. They did alcohol though, so it doesn't seem like a too far of a stretch to do cannabis.

being that the drug is illegal i doubt they will ever do it.

having smoked pot for many years the danger of it is more in the game of the drug rather than the actual consumption of it. Many times while dealing with a drug dealer there is always that question of am I going to get robbed? If weed is so dangerous then why are so many states passing medical marijuana laws?

They've already compared driving while tired and driving while using a cell phone to driving drunk. I'd like to see them test if driving high is as difficult/dangerous as driving drunk. They could very easily get some people with medical cards to do the test so it's legal.

Definitely not. Any show like that can be bought, and myth busters has, as I've learned from some very smart redditors, some really shitty tests on some subjects. And if they got all "weed will blow your face up and end the world" I feel (apologies America) Americans would eat it up. I really only believe in my redditing brethren in the states :). Which unfortunately isn't the majority.

As far as the legality of a marijuana myth show, i'm fairly certain medical marijuana is legal in San Francisco or wherever they film the show. Any patients who would like to volunteer there services as human guinea pigs?

Seeing as their main audience is 12-16 year old, they'd never do that. Even if they wanted to, the business people will come in and stop them. Think of how many soccer mom's will stop letting their kids watch the show if they did this. Same thing was what happened when they tried to do RFID, the business side comes into play.

It's too bad, i would really like for them to do it. It would take some courage and I'd definitely respect them more. It'd probably change a fair amount of minds.

Uh, how would they prove/disprove this? "We've given Grant giant amounts of marijuana, let's see if he dies!" Unless they can find a way to tie in busting the weed myth with causing explosions, I don't see it happening.

I always find it stupid that weed forums typically assume cannabis is 100% risk free. Sure, it's much better than other drugs... but the effects of smoking on your lungs are very real. Same with addiction. I smoke err'day and I take this into account, why do so many other people choose to see it differently? =\

Yknow if they do test marijuana, and find it to be NOT dangerous, they will have to find some way to make it dangerous. In mythbusters style, probably make it explosive. Then you'll never get it legalized! :p

this will never happen for a variety of reasons one of which is that they can't test the potential long term effects, that is to say they can't do a 10 year study. MB is kind of suited for things that go boom and can be tested with repetitions that are repeatable within a few weeks.

IMO, the biggest danger from weed stems from prohibition laws, not weed its self. It's the assholes who grow it with some 30 year old DDT that they bought from who the fuck knows where and you have zero ability to tell the organic shit from the real stuff.

I'm about to purchase some nugs from a guy who claims it's organic, but how the fuck do I know??

Don't post your opinions here, you're preaching to the choir. Post them on the Mythbusters Forum. A lot of people don't know the true facts, and might not take the time to read reports about the multiple benefits of cannabis.

I don't think they should. I read the main demographic for the show is 9-14 year old boys, and i do not think that we should be sending this message to kids (i think anything we give to a developing brain we should really think about). until college that is.

also there is not really a short experiment that they would do to bust the myth. It would takes year of double blind studies.
