She's awesome and I like her, but there's a huge barrier in the way and I'm trying to take it down.

I was raised super christian and was taught say no to drugs and say no to people who do drugs. Well now I've grown up and learned that there is a difference between something that is illegal and immoral. I believe that weed is not immoral and is ok by me.

However my brainwashing parents are keeping me from fully realizing this view. I still find myself judging those who smoke, and looking down upon them. I don't want to. I want to not judge. I guess my situation is similar to a racist trying to not be racist anymore.

EDIT: a lot of you are suggesting that I try it. Well I did try it, and I almost lost my job because of it.

About my job? I'm currently a college student (mechanical engineering) and I was offered a job working for the civilian division of the navy upon my graduation. My starting date, somewhere in July. During the security clearance questionaire they asked if you had used any drugs illegally in the last year. I said yes I had and wrote down the date, because I'm honest. I got a call from them the next day saying that I couldn't work there because of that. I asked them that since I said that the incident was in August, if I could start in September; a year would have passed. And they gave me the go ahead.

It was really scary for me. There's about 20 people in my program graduating, and only about 6 of us have jobs lined up. Being offered a job was a miracle. Trying to find another one this late in the game would be near impossible. The one time I smoked it was fun, but I can't do it at the expense of my career.
