The lack of a locking nut on that contemporary strat pains me, probably because I really love strats with locking trems and it seems like such a waste.

umm....what are you doing on your cell phone where you are using 10-20GB a month?

Since no one else seems to want to be helpful enough to actually explain, I shall.

The OP made no mention of a cell phone, and with usage like that, I suspect they're using the 3G connection for their home connection, especially since they say:

3G wireless is my ONLY source of internet (fuck satellite) so I don't have the luxury of choosing another provider.

As someone that lives in the middle of nowhere, I've had both satellite and 3G (via a router made by linksys that had a slot for those PCMCIA cards) as my primary internet connection, up until they finally ran cable out this far. It's not hard at all to see usages of 10-20 gigs that way (hell, I use that much in a week sometimes, anymore).

The CV series is actually quite nice for the most part, I'd put the quality on the whole at just below MIM Fenders, but only just.

Actually, while high humidity can slow the drying effect of evaporation, it doesn't actually effect the rate of evaporation, nor does exceedingly dry air. Instead, evaporation is really a form of very localized boiling caused by the random motion of molecules bumping into each other and the environment, causing a build up of energy in certain molecules, which 'boils' them.

It's basically the same as any other strat, with a 5-way and the volume/tone/tone knobs. The other thing is a coil tap switch (currently broken, gonna replace it soon) for the humbucker.

As for the pink: exactly what PhantomGenocide said.

The trem is a Kahler Spider, it's basically like most floyd rose trems, except that the knife edge is on the posts instead of the bridge itself. At least, that's what I've read, I don't know a whole lot about trems myself. This one isn't floating, no idea if that's normal or not, but it stays in tune like nobodies business, and it's generally easier to deal with than than the floyd on my Ibanez.

I love it, it plays amazing, the DiMarzio humbucker sounds perfect, and I can't stop looking at this guitar.

Probably not most of r/Guitars cup of tea, but I fell in love with the HM Strat when I first saw one, been trying to get one for three years since. Got this baby on eBay for a steal. Just needs a new switch for the coil tap and she's perfect. Still need to name her though.
