A lot of depressed people don't feel like they "deserve" to be depressed and they feel very guilty for feeling that way which just makes it worse. There's also a complete inability to describe how you're feeling to someone else with any clarity. The worst thing is when you start believing what other people say to you and minimizing your own condition. It gets better once you understand that most people are ignorant and will never understand what it's like to be depressed.
