IIRC ALF is on his way to meet up his lady friend and go home, when he's caught by the feds. And that's a wrap.

Your intentions are good, my friend, but that is a no-revenue site. A non-profit would keep people's money up until the point that its expenses were covered and send the remainder back. ;)

And every time we have grown more accepting of homosexuality, atheism, and other religions, it has been because of practitioners of the same losing their fear of being honest about their interests, and being courageous enough to share their interests openly.

Come here to read conspiracy news from an honest perspective! by avengingfrenchtoastin shamelessplug

[–]ChaosMotor 0 points1 point ago

But it's not an honest perspective, it's a "lol look at all these conspiratards they're all ignorant and stupid" perspective. How honest can you be with an insult in your name?

The "conspiritards" perspective of "believe everything you're told - but only from the right people" is just as stupid as the conspiracy theorist's perspective of "believe everything you're told - but only from the right people".

Neither perspective embraces critical thinking or intellectual honesty.

Let's say you have a friend who's a pathological liar. Every story they tell you turns out to be either embellished, or a complete and utter fabrication.

How many years of listening to their stories would you keep assuming the stories are true, and eventually discovering that the story is false, before you just give up and say, you know what, that guy has lied to me so many times, I'm going to assume he's lying to me from now on, unless I have another reason to believe it?

Your link links to PopSci which links to Global Post. Does nobody read the original fucking link? Must we post linkspam to blogspam to linkspam to blogspam?

How fucking deep do I have to go to get a goddamned story?

Don't you try that slavery metaphor bullshit with me. Nobody has ever been enslaved by a goddamned glass window.

I'm not going to let somebody tell me how to protest.

And you're not going to increase your supporters by breaking their shit.

Me either, which is why elections should not be secret ballot. It's damned hard to defraud an election when you can attach every vote to a person and know for certain there are no unattached votes.

[–]ChaosMotor -5 points-4 points ago

keep calling me names, after a while it will make your point more valid.

If you don't understand how the explosive destruction of 800 lbs of glass is dangerous to those around you, you really don't deserve a more respectful appellation.

And most 1st floor outside glass these days is tempered glass so that's not very dangerous

Not at all true. Even tempered glass is extremely dangerous. Why don't you go jump through a shop window and tell me how not dangerous it is?

you know how empowering it can feel

Why do you think cops like to bust heads? That doesn't make it right!

Even If that does sound childish, it's true and I'm sure many here would agree.

I didn't say it wasn't true. I said it wouldn't garner you support. There's a reason that the people who go to monster truck rallies generally don't go that far in life.

pretend there was no property damage during that uprising

Are you going to pretend that property damage is why revolutions succeed?

That it was 100% non violent?

Direct your violence against those who have actually violated you!

Wow, if that's not the clearest explanation of why you don't give them the ammo they're going to use to shoot you, I don't know what is. How can you even type that and, knowing what you've written, still support the very tactics that are most easily used against the anarchist movement?

I don't know why I even bother, you do a great job looking stupid on your own. Just keep talkin' Louis. Everyone can see how intelligent, considerate, and mature you are. "You sound 14" and "go read a book" sound like the last resorts of someone who doesn't know enough to respond in any other way.

Black Bloc: The Cancer in Occupy by subvertcin Anarchism

[–]ChaosMotor -3 points-2 points ago

You cannot destroy what you hate by becoming what you hate. How can you be better than them, by being just like them?

And the public isn't going to "get over it", so maybe you need to get over the fact that this tactic is working against the stated goals of anarchy. Black Bloc tactics reinforce the public's belief in the government, and what we need is to undermine their belief in the government. You can't do that by driving them right back into it's arms to protect their shops and skulls.

Some individuals will choose to break things. So be it.

Is not the attitude that wins hearts & minds.

Black Bloc: The Cancer in Occupy by subvertcin Anarchism

[–]ChaosMotor -2 points-1 points ago

You're only focusing on the destructive aspect.

What do you think the public focuses on? The Black Bloc could continue doing everything you listed and stop destroying shit, and imagine the wonders it would do for anarchy as a movement. Gee, taking away the biggest stumbling block to public acceptance? Nah, jam it in there further, really make it a sore spot with the public, something they can never accept. That's the key to success - having nobody on your side!

What stops jobs? "Ms. Pries said she had to endure months of runaround and pay a lawyer to determine whether her location (a vacant grocery) was eligible to become a restaurant. There were permit fees of $20,000...and an $11,000 charge just to turn on the water." by obvioustrollin business

[–]ChaosMotor 0 points1 point ago

That's funny, I was trying to point out that all of your assumptions are just that, assumptions, which just so happen to fall to the benefit of the government. Yes, it is both sides of the same coin. The difference is, my assumptions are supported by the narrative of the story, while yours contradict it.

but all I'm seeing in this case is sour grapes for an entrepreneur who didn't look before she leaped.

What evidence have you other than assumption!? You've already noted that SF is notorious for this crap.
