Naruto 571 - Read Online at Manga Stream by WheeStarin Naruto

I was thinking, this "five minutes" that they can stay transformed is going to be like Freeza saying "Namek will blow up in 2 minutes". Twelve episodes later...

[SPOILERS] I think this latest chapter just pushed something into my brain. by NobleVin Naruto

[–]DCMurphy 2 points3 points ago

I think that "something" was to quietly capture B and Naruto. The ninja alliance wasn't complete at that point (I think just before chapter 500), Naruto had not met B yet. Kisame didn't die until after that point, so it's plausible that his task was to capture B, then Tobi and the Zetsu army goes after Naruto.

Just my $.02.

Quick question about how to read a book in german by SacredBandofThebesin LANL_German

[–]DCMurphy 1 point2 points ago

Read a segment, be it a chapter or a paragraph or a few pages, however long you feel comfortable. Underline or highlight every word you don't know. See what you can gather through context and what you can't. Then once you're sick of reading or you're lost in the story, go look the words up. It's important to stick with it and keep reading even if a few words slip under your radar; try and get the overarching message first before you look for nuances.

It's also important to stick to your level, don't try and read Nietzsche or Goethe if you are still at the beginner level.

Where are you? by madleprakahnin Homebrewing

Narragansett, RI here.

Gray Sail is pretty cool, one of the kids I went to high school (Prout '06) with actually started the brewery from what I gather.

Trinity is on Empire, but that's pretty much all we have to offer. It was mentioned in another thread under this topic; I didn't want to be redundant.

And I haven't seen Sons of Liberty anywhere in SK (I'm a Narragansett resident), but is their distillery what they're doing to the old Pump House near the Peace Dale Rotary?

Having lived in Rhode Island for 90% of my life, I can confirm that we do very much need a great brewpub, and if I could I'd open one myself.

I like Trinity. Most all other "Rhody" beer is shit.

Well then, maybe it's time to unsubscribe from /r/pics... if it bugs you so much, why do you expose yourself to it? The best thing I ever did with reddit is get off the main forums into little niche ones. Subs with 1.2 million subscribers (like /r/pics) are much more likely to have reposts than smaller communities.

If you're looking for a new media hub, I'd recommend Del.icio.us. And I'm sure you have Stumble. Reddit isn't the be-all, end-all, you know. But be prepared for reposts on that too.

And if you watch TV, you'll see the same commercials. And reruns. Same with the radio.

[–]DCMurphy 7 points8 points ago

Okay, but look at babettebaboon's post. Those picture reposts are to r/pics/, /trees/, /Muppets/, /cupcakes/, and /food/. I didn't even know r/cupcakes/ existed, and I'm not subscribed to /food/ or /Muppets/. 7 posts to 5 subreddits = minimal reposting, mostly crossposting.

But everything on this site should not be chain-email reposts. It's pathetic.

And everything on reddit isn't a repost. Seriously, what are you bitching about? Probably once a day you're going to see something you've seen somewhere else. Kind of a far cry from everything.

[–]DCMurphy 8 points9 points ago

Reposts are bound to happen. The internet doesn't really have a start or an end, and for some of us it's hard to discern between what's "old" and what's "new".

Reddit has a Hide button attached to every post. If you don't want to see it, then hide it and move on.

I... never said it was a bad idea for beginning developers? I'd rather just not pay a middleman, if the option is there, is all.

I didn't look it up, I had kind of figured it would be more in the 40-50% range...

Not as bad as I thought, but I'd rather give Louie all the money that he's earned.

The problem with the iTunes link is that it isn't as direct as Louie's stand up offer from his website. I don't have the figures, but I'm sure Apple takes a pretty big cut.

B- here. I used to donate every time they came to my university, but at least in my state the blood bank is populated by vampires.

When I hadn't donated for 7 weeks, I got calls sometimes three to four times a day. I don't mind donating to help my fellow man, I do mind the inconsiderate staff harassing me at all hours of the day (got calls as late as 9PM) instead of calling people who haven't donated.

If you stick with it, you'll be happy with your decision.

[–]DCMurphy 0 points1 point ago

Yes, I did learn the "ich" sounding ending from my teachers, and also when I studied in Braunschweig. I don't know if that's necessarily a northern dialect or what.

I have my B.A in German, so I'd say I have a little qualification to answer this:

IIRC, it's due to the "zig" ending. Try saying "zwanzigzwei", it's a little too much for the mouth to handle.

Like musticrudnin pointed out: 13-19 are backwards in English and in German.

I can handle German numbers, it's French numbers that geek me:

88 - quatre-vingt-huit - or "4 twenty 8"

Fucking confusing...

Not the OP FWIW, but I do have my Bachelor's in German and I'm sure this is what he's talking about.

1 - eins

4 - vier

20 - zwanzig

24 - vierundzwanzig

30 - dreißig

31 - einunddreißig

100 - hundert

234 - zweihundertvierunddreißig

It's on Friday, so you should have a few days to fine tune and practice it. A good place to start would be the sentence structure you know, and what you're comfortable with. The problem with your idea is that it's not "simple" German structure. If you submit some work that isn't your own, the professor is probably going to have an idea.

A good way to start would be to simplify things "Meine Freundins Geburtstag ist der zweite Januar." and "Sie ißt gern Pizza." or "Unsere Lieblings-Pizza Restaurant ist 'Slice' auf Süd 6. und Taskar."

Your professor isn't expecting a doctoral thesis. You're going to have short sentences and it might sound stupid: I remember the speech I had to perform in front of the class in GER102. Just stick to what you know and the professor should give you decent marks.

Best of luck!
