We moved to Sunnyvale about 6 months ago. We live near Central and Fair Oaks. I feel it is a very safe area but there is a few sketchy looking areas. I feel very safe here but I feel more comfortable when my GF walks with me. I don't like it when she walks alone. We walk every afternoon and have not had an issue.

This is one of my favorite movies. My father has always said this was the scariest movie he has ever seen. When my mother was pregnant with my sister (april of 81) and in the hospital he couldn't stay in the hospital at night, so he wandered the streets of chicago and decided to see a movie. He went to a second run theater and saw this. He was the only one in the theater. My father enjoys the 3 stooges, train videos, Woody Allen, and movies like Bridges of Madison County, so you can imagine how he felt seeing this alone while waiting for his first born to enter the world :)

I know what you mean. That's why it was sorta a treat. The salmon was like 7 bucks per 6oz strip (2 strips used) and the mini scallops were like 8 bucks for like .62 lbs. So it was about as much as eating out but worth it as a treat. The scallops are like a meal in them selves too. Little sweet protein bombs.

Thanks. Ill try to remmber everything. This was my first time cooking fish alone. My gf is the true master and I am usually her chopping and dicing machine but I wanted to make her something alone.

First I sauteed fresh garlic and fresh spring onions (bulb and green part) in butter. Added the mini scallops and added a little kosher salt and pepper. After those were done I took them out but left a fair amount of the buttery scallop juice in the pan. I added a smidge more butter and the veggies. The veggies were mushrooms, zucchini, a yellow crookneck squash, and shallots. Once those were going I added the salmon and used a little garlic salt with pepper. After it was finished I squeezed a whole lemon over it all. And then Nom Nom Nom.

It was fantastic but that was by far the most fatty salmon I've ever had. Melted in the mouth.

The scallops were awesome. The fish was awesome except I think it may have been a little too fatty for me.

Err sorry I should have worded that better. I'm all the way out in California. But if you ever make the place and I make one, we could start a community of restaurants/cafes. Share a few specific recipes so that we offer a few of the same items while still maintaining a uniqueness to each location. There is so much potential for the paleo lifestyle (strict or not) in the industry. The customer base is growing too.

Yeah. I mean if I can get a snack for cheap and fast then I will come to a cafe like that and more then likely get a unsweet tea too. If I can get a snack heavy in protein, fat, and fiber plus a big unsweet tea for 5 bucks or less then I'm happy. A snack like that would be more filling then eating a few mcdoubles.

Also experiment with cold brewing coffee and some teas. Cold brew coffee is less acidic and less bitter. Which means you do not need to add as much sweeteners or any at all. Not to mention easy and it does the work for you. So smooooooth!

I'm living CA now but if I ever make it back to the midwest, I will certainly take a road trip to your cafe if you make it. I think its an awesome idea.

I want to make a paleo restaurant, lounge, and cafe here in the south bay. I have no idea where to start though. Best of luck to you! Totally do it!

edit also maybe have things like hard boild eggs, soft boiled, and quick lettuce wraps. Make them cheap and affordable. Healthy fast food essentially. I can't tell you how much I wish I ould swing by a place and get a paleo style bite while running errands. Sure I can buy two eggs at the store for .99 cents but thats about it and I don't know where those eggs have been or come from. I want to offer stuff like that. A quick lettuce wrapped grass fed burger with a side of veggies or sweet potat fries is sounding really good right now.

Yeah I was thinkig something like that and any redditors could submit stuff. I thought about making it sorta focus on the bay area where I live now. Like talk about restaurants or local farms/farmers markets. I would like to open a paleo restaurant someday too.
