I'm not saying they're not different - they are, I have a Hori stick myself that I hate to play on because of the layout. The ergonomic advantages are pretty similar though. It's based on how your hand naturally curls, and therefor is preference since you should use whatever is the most comfortable.

If you only use the first 6 buttons, Vewlix and Blast City are pretty close in ergonomics. It's a matter of preference.

give Super Monday Night Combat a go. DOTA meets third person shooter, free to play. If it's something you can get into, it's really hard to step away from when matches are intense from the start and are relatively short (longest one I've played was about 27 minutes, I've seen some go to 40 minutes but it's uncommon to go too far past 20 minutes).

Keep an eye out for the PS360+s going on sale soon, it's a fairly simple dual mod, totally solderless (uses screwdown terminals), and has all sorts of goodies on it. Of course, if you have a stick that's not worth modding, or money is tight, you could always just borrow a stick. Most people don't mind letting you use theirs, but personally I hate to rely on other people - ironically, I lend my stick out constantly.
