Settling on a Becker BK2, deals anyone? by Savedbyakillerin knives

I recommend http://www.Tomarskabars.com

They have some of the lowest prices and I've never had a problem dealing with them.

Not really prog metal, but i guess it is related. Great band.

First time hearing this. And seeing as Tool is in my top 5, I'm going to listen to the whole album now. Thanks!

I'd be interested in the Military + cash. Black, plain edge?

I would be interested in a BK9, Becker micarta, kydex sheath for the BK5 or BK9, packs, ZT0561, Benchmade 940 or possibly another axis lock.

I bought this off a friend for $10. Its my first "real" knife other than Swiss army knives by BaconGoneWild69in knives

Congrats, everyone has to start somewhere. I would recommend looking at some of Kershaw's offerings (many can be had for less than $25) or the Spyderco Tenacious line.

My favorite little thing right now: Paramilitary 2 XHP by Dr_Stephen_Colbertin knives

[–]Dr_Stephen_Colbert[S] 1 point2 points ago

It's a perfect EDC. Not something for hard use but its an elegant knife that most people don't think twice about. Disappears in the pocket and has great ergos. Frankly, its an all around great knife for $140 or less.

Thanks, I had fun coming up with it and I'm pleased with the results. :)

Chris Bowden is on bladeforums here.

For those using Reddit Enhancement Suite I'll post a description in case you don't click the pics.

1/8" 1095 tin knives (fit in altoids tin). I came up with the design, submitted it in a contest that Chris Bowden (KFU) held and got the most votes so he made about 30 of them. I believe he still has some available if you want, PM me for his email. They are really ergonomic and easy to cordwrap if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm wanting to invest in a Spyderco. Which do y'all recommend? The Manix 2 or the Paramilitary 2? by CodenameDeadpoolin knives

[–]Dr_Stephen_Colbert 2 points3 points ago

The compression lock is so much better than the caged ball lock. Easier to open and close the knife and very strong.

I really like the XHP so far. It holds an sharp edge for quite a while and is easy to sharpen.

What happens when a knife guy takes and Autocad class. by FatStupidAmericanin knives

[–]Dr_Stephen_Colbert 0 points1 point ago

If you're going to have the designs made, one thing to help make the drawings clearer would be use decimals to 2 or 3 places or even better, use fractions. Most knifemakers don't use CNC mills and would be able to read easier. Not sure the angles would help much either. Radii though can be useful when making a knife.

I like that hawk, it reminds me of the CS Trail Hawk, which is pretty cheap if you want to handle a tamahack.

I use Inventor as well and I have to admit, I've probably made over 10 designs for myself and like 20 for other people. Its addicting!

Just saw this in the Becker pics thread. What kind of micarta is on the 9? It looks different than the usual micarta I see.

I haven't decided yet. Possibly the Hunter or I'll come up with my own.
