That's only guaranteeing if their dad owns the company... you don't get very far in the work place being a dick. Most higher ups in companies I've met are actually extremely nice. It's the people who have "skills" like programming and engineering skills that don't really have to work their way up the corporate ladder I find to be most dickish (not specifically programmers and engineers, just jobs that require specific skills and high salaries). They didn't have to do the shit jobs to get the good ones.

if the bully knows, every time I hit this kid, I get away with it, but if the bully knows, "every time I hit this kid, I get hit too" he's not gonna keep hitting you very long...

The reality is, IF there is any sort of link, it must be very very small. Don't you think if anti marijuana groups had lots of people who develop cancer from smoking weed they would be shoving it in our faces? But they aren't. Because they don't have them.

Regardless, don't smoke. Vape!

yeah, this is much easier for island nations, just like england. if you CAN do it, cool. although, i still feel most people should be allowed to own a gun. i mean, if you want to kill someone, you're going to find a way... just like there are so many stabbings in the UK.

as far as the US goes, we're so far down the rabbit hole, there's really no coming back. if you outlawed guns here, criminals would still have them.

People who are pro-life aren't trying to limit choices, unless you consider outlawing murder to be limiting choices.

I hope you've never wasted a sperm... murderer...

On the topic of gun control, conservatives are the ones letting people make choices, and liberals are trying to limit them.

personally I'm not against guns. anyone who is, is well, stupid. the same train of logic goes for guns, drugs, abortion and prostitution. it's going to happen anyway, so we might as well make it legal and regulate it so it's safer for everyone. so far we have 2/4 done right.

mainly regarding the definition of marriage

I'd love to see what definition of marriage you're using... is it the one where one man gets 10 wives? or where a man doesn't have sex with his wife and instead with his mistress(es)? or is it where a man marries a per-pubescent girl? or is it where the parents arrange the marriage?

Conservatism isn't based on forcing people to abide by your own standards, it's based on tradition and preservation.

tradition is another term for "i dont know why we're doing this... we just do"

as far as conservative economics go, we've seen how great that turned out the past 40 years... again, wages have gone down the toilet. you're earning less money now than you would have 40 years ago. please tell how conservative economics are great for the country.

Grew up very religious, very conservative. Totally anti gay marriage (hell, anti gay), anti abortion. It didn't take long for my shitty arguments to be destroyed (along with my path to atheism helping). Once I got rid of religion and stop thinking "what would god want me to do?" and instead asked the question, "what should I do?" things became a lot more clear.

Needless to say, I've become much more liberal, but I still find myself to be quite objective on most issues. I think conservatism is just plain stupid, however, that isn't just because I'm liberal. I don't think libertarianism is stupid, even though I disagree with it. Conservatism could be the only ideology in american politics and it would still be stupid. It's based on forcing people to abide by your own standards, which "liberalism" does not do. Liberalism opens all the doors and allows you to make your own choice about things. Against abortion? Great! Don't get one!

The religious right is essentially why I immediately dismiss their world view. It is not their world view. It's what they think their world view is. Why is gay marriage still a debate? Because of the moronic religious right holding back progress.

I'm too lazy right now to go onto economic issues, but conservatives basically want to give 100% of the power to employers, which I completely disagree with. I'm very pro union (yes there are some good and bad unions, just as there are good and bad employers), because I feel unions are the only way wages will ever go back up. There needs to be a balance of power. As we've gotten rid of unions, what has happened? Wages have gone down the toilet. Now two incomes barely afford a living wage. How many people do you know that work 2 jobs?

Will the legalization of marijuana cause an increase in cocaine users or other dangerous drugs? by loshujiein PoliticalDiscussion

[–]GeneraLeeStoned 1 point2 points ago

I really don't think cocaine is as dangerous as people think it is... you have to snort a pretty shit ton of cocaine to OD on it...

regardless, no. cocaine is already available to the people who want it. im sure i could find it if i wanted to. actually i know i could. but dont really want to try it. partly because i know i'll like it.

I don't give a monkeys what someone believes in, as long as they dont harm others (physically or otherwise), I dont care. So-fucking-what if people wanna believe in an all seeing wizard in the sky, its irrelevent to life.

so you do care then? because religion is doing a lot of harm. it's extremely relevant to many peoples lives, because it directly affects them.

Weed causes massive brain damage

lmfao.

By comparison smoking weed directly exposes everyone in the nearby area.

you're really stuck on this whole smoking thing arent you.... i already debunked it, why are you still using it?

just goes to show how far you have dropped in your critical thinking skills you know what else is "just a fucking plant" poison ivy, deadly nightshade, hemlock

lrn2logic. i didnt say all plants are good. you act as if exposing a child to a plant (which the child wouldn't even know what it is) is some horrible atrocity.

your argument is like one comedic stumble after another.
