This happens all the time once a majority of muslims are living in an area. I realize that's an uncomfortable thing to say, but it's true anyway.

The scary part is not how they take over the street, but how they intimidate and threaten people who don't live by their rules. Imagine being jewish or gay and walking through a neighborhood like that after dark. or a girl growing up there not wanting to wear hijab.

Awwww, the poor helpless girl who can't drive (how female is that, like duh?), spills strawberry in her husband's precious car, flirts with other men to make her husband jealous (but he is such a nice man he doesn't hit her anyway), and yet he still "puts up" with her, and protects her (because we all know girls are helpless creatures that needs a man to protect them), only to have him killed in Iraq.

This girl sounds like a total airhead with a view of the world straight out of the fifties. Is this meant to be taken seriously, or is it some sort of feminist parody?

I agree it should be legal for recreational use, but at the moment it's not.

I realize a lot of people are using medical pot for recreational purposes, but as long as there are people with cancer, aids, ms and so on medical marijuana should be allowed.

A lot of morphine/opiat based pain-medicine like ocycontin etc. is being used by addicts, that's not a valid argument against having it available as a medicine. The same goes for medical marihuana.

Most Mexicans, I assume, don't have a culture and way of life dictating that working is bad, having an actual place to live is bad, stealing is ok, you should marry at 15, education is bad, curses and superstition is a vital part of their religion, bathing is something you do in the summer, the state and everyone else that does not share your culture is fair game to swindle, lie to, steal from and cheat in every way you can.

Those things are integral to Gypsy culture and way of life. It's just very, very hard to have a society where gypsies keep their culture and value and get along with the rest of us without conflicts. Because, you know, most people don't share their values.

IF you look back a hundred years, most people were farmers who did backbreaking work from dusk till dawn. Gypsy culture very much looks down on manual labour and living at the same place. How are you gonna support yourself in a rural society if you don't work the land? By begging and stealing the food from farmers. No wonder they were hated feared, and still are.

Gypsies have a culture that dictates you should not live at the same place for a long period of time, you should not be a farmer or have a steady job where you have to show up at regular hours at the same place, and your kids should definitely not go to school. Those things are for the other people, who gypsies see as being dumb for working so hard instead of traveling around etc. Women should marry very early and have lots of kids. Honor and family pride is very important and should be defended if violated, usually with knifes and similar.

Obviously this causes, and has caused over the centuries, a lot of friction between gypsies and the rest of the people. How do you integrate people into society when the people don't want school or education and they don't want to work? Theft and begging is pretty much the only option they have.

Theft is ok according to gypsy culture. When Jesus was on the cross a gypsy stole one of the nails, giving Jesus relief of the pain. Thus Jesus granted gypsies the right to steal. This story is a major part of their belief system.

Some fundamentalist Muslims are upset and want to kill the people they think are mocking the Islamic faith, you can't blame the pastor for the action other people want to take.

The whole Koran burning thing is daft, and disrespectful. On the other hand, Muslims are regularly threatening the west and getting angry over real and/or perceived insults to their religion.

I totally agree with you: a well mastered album on vinyl will sound better than a badly mastered CD. If you like music that's a few years old the vinyl version is often the best sounding version there is.

In Rainbows sounds horrible on CD - the mastering is abysmal and loud. The mastering for the vinyl version is better, but not mindblowingly so. Most modern bands masters their vinyl releases from the digital master used for the CD (Usually pre-dither 24 bit), but it still sounds better. Unless you have a hardon for all analog it shouldn't matter much.

Also, american vinyl was/is the worst. But lets not get into that. Lets just say that if you buy "audiophile 180 gram pressings" today they are made at the old pressing plants with run down equipment that used to crank out cheap-o vinyl for the american market.

With vinyl you've got issues like speed (unless you tune it regularly even your super expensive record player will slow down or speed up), inner groove distortion, surface noise, there is no true stereo separation, rumble, less dynamics, LP's warp and melt and break, they wear out, even audiphile pressings comes with pops and clicks, you have to clean them. I could go on and on.

Heck, LP's are so crap at reproducing sounds that when they are cut and played back on your turntable the sound that's not physically on the vinyl has to be guessed and reproduced via the riaa curve.

To make it worse, if you are buying a new vinyl album today it often comes from the same loudness destroyed digital master that's used for the CD. So what you are getting is the exact same sounds as on the CD, with extra noise added via each step of the mechanical process of cutting the LP and playing it back.

But it's cool and retro and the harmonic distortion makes the music sound more pleasing to the ear.

The LP covers look really good though, and are great for rolling joints at. :D

It's not called VINYL'S you god damn hipster kid.

Vinyl is the plastic and material albums and singles (LP's and 45's and what have you) are made of.

It's possible to say that you listen to vinyl, and you own vinyl and prefer the sound of vinyl, but GOD DAMN IT there is no such thing as "vinyls".

If you use the word "vinyls" you might as well wear a sign on your forehead saying "I'm a hipster wannabe who's really clueless about music, especially vinyl."

I dunno man. I agree with your point, don't get me wrong.

At the same time, it's easier to see how people might believe that some very long time ago God created man somewhere in Mesopotamia and bla bla, but it's not really that important and anyway the bible has two versions of the story and it's not very essential to their religion and what not.

Saying that Adam and Eve lived a very specific place nowhere near the place where the events in the bible took place, and having that location and similar weirdness be an important part of your faith is crazier and improbable on more levels and for many reasons. Or so it seems to me anyway.
