You seem to have problems. Dude, it is a game. It is suposed to be fun. If you are not having fun playing a healer, or a troller, go play a dps or a tank. You don't even need to roll another toon to switch to DPS.

Everyone believes that the grass is greener on the neighbor's side.

To be completely honest, the class that people keep requesting the most for alerts and raids at Watchtower nowadays is neither healer, nor troller, but tank.

If the game is not fun anymore to you, leave.

Get Mark Sisson's books on Primal Lifestyle. That will help you lose the weight quickly.

Then start reading Married Man Sex Life and order the MMSL Primer.

Then maybe your life will improve, providing you want to do the necessary changes.

There is the same "amount" of content for each side. Same number of missions and instances. It is just that after a while, villains are more like another kind of hero than proper villains.

The story is weak, really. It is nice the first time you watch it, but then you just tune it out.

Jim Lee was responsible for character design, and still is. Geoff Johns was in the beginning, but he is no longer with the DCUO team.

It seems that I have to relearn everything I know about tanking. I tried tanking Oolong T2 yesterday and it was very hard to do the way I used to do, even though I used to do it without any trouble in the past.

It seems that I simply do not pull aggro like I did before.

All the games that are on my queue to be bought are not remakes, either.

All classes are needed, except DPS. Seriously, we don't need more DPS'es.

What we trully need, however, are skilled players. Whatever you decide to be, be it a healer, a troller, a tank or a dps, play your role.

The max level is 30. As far as I understand, with help it is attainable in a weekend of dedicated playing. By playing about 1h a day, plus about 6h on weekends, it took me around two weeks to reach 30 by myself, which means that, by yourself, you can attain it in 30-40 hours.

For starters, the best class you can play is DPS. It is an easy role at the beginning, but it is also the second hardest one later on at the raids (hardest being tank).

And as for tips...

Learn to follow orders from more experienced players. A single player ruined a Khandaq raid yesterday for a whole group, simply because he refused to comply with what he was expected to do. As a person that plays since the game was beta, I am going to ask you once, then ask you again, then order you, then kick you from the raid. I do not have patience with incompetence because I cannot afford to waste time with it.
Follow the loot rules:

You can need on any equipment that is from the class you are now. Future aspirations to create a second set of equipment for your secondary class are not reasons to need on equipment.
Money is not a reason to need on equipment. Period.
Style is not a reason to need on equipment, unless it is a piece from the role you are now.
If someone asks for dibs on a certain drop, and you don't need it, then don't need on it. Be nice. If you do happen to need it, tell the person you will roll for it because you also need it.
You can greed on any equipment that is for your secondary class.
You should pass on any equipment that is not from either your primary or secondary role, unless no member of said class is present on the group. Then you can greed on it, but never EVER need on it.

3. Learn your role. Seriously.
