Millionaire Investor Calls for Higher Taxes on the Rich - "'We are systematically destroying our customer base in this country by undercutting the middle class,' he says. 'If it was true that the rich and business were job creators, we'd be drowning in jobs today.'" by StateOfThoughtin politics

[–]Lobozombie 8 points9 points ago

The comments applauded in this article, and elsewhere when similar comments are presented by well-to-do investors stating-the-obvious, serve no purpose other than to further solidify the fact that competent journalism is incompatible with corporate ownership of the media.

Since 2008, amidst cries of austerity and spending cuts, people like warren buffet and so many others have, when asked by media what their take is on the governments response, made these cutesy remarks about how they scratch their heads at such absurd policy.

The issue here is why such reports are made in the first place. Why collective media discourse is stuck in a vortex of mediocrity when dealing with questions related to economic cannibalism, the effects on the environment (quickly reaching the zero point), and the steady march to war with Iran, or, possible, a third world war.

Clearly, there is a latent inability on the part of profit driven media to embrace these issues wholly, in any serious manner, one that is demanded by sheer necessity alone. These are very terrifying times. One cant help but feel simultaneously hopeless and hysterical when reading such reports; and the comments they engender.

i resent the anti-Semitic nature of the site you've posted. Inappropriate and anti-intellectual.

Israel's 'Rosa Parks' refuses to take back seat by compstomperin worldnews

[–]Lobozombie -1 points0 points ago

It's not as though the Zionists are "like" American settlers; they effectively ARE. Israel is the U.S's most important ally in the region-- a foothold for U.S. atrocity. Their importance as an intelligence ally alone merits U.S. defense despite attacks on AMERICAN military ships in Israeli waters, for example, in that one nasty situation circa 1980. As Chomsky and other critics have outlined, Israel carries out the same "type" of violent colonialism stooped in western tradition that the U.S. has utilized in it's own infancy; in fact the worst kind-- settler colonialism, in which the native population has no prospect for gaining rights or contributing to the dominant society and are expected simply to cease existing.

Without massive popular outrage, the most hopeful outcome for the Palestinians is the continuation of apartheid-- and at the worse, large scale genocide when shit inevitably hits the fan (U.S. war with Iran, for example)

This is a massive human rights issue both in the area and in the u.s. and this article only serves to further the anxiety of those who pay attention-- When major war correspondents (CNN) completely ignore the fact that Israels true second class citizenry is living out the worst nightmare of civil rights activists in the American south, but then supposing some half brained bullshit about religios oppression form a minority Zionist group is news worthy (when it amounts to no true consequence other than to distract readers), drip it in platitudes about rosa parks, ect.

We are living out the last days of a senile system of manipulative control. This is a horror.

edit: drunk. suckm my dick

The ratio's are off. The shit i know and shit i know i don't know should be, by comparison, VASTLY smaller. i mean like. fantastically smaller.

Israel's 'Rosa Parks' refuses to take back seat by compstomperin worldnews

[–]Lobozombie 5 points6 points ago

I find it insulting and somewhat disgusting, however, it;s unsurprising that CNN would run a story like this. Women, here as everywhere else, still struggle for equality and respect in the chauvinist, increasingly patriarchal right-leaning first world. However Israels true second class citizenry lives under the weight of social genocide carried about though the use of military check points, violent domination, political threatening and increasingly horrific civil rights abuses.

Here is the "Rosa parks" CNN doesn't care to give a shit about: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/palestinian-freedom-riders-arrested-on-bus-to-jerusalem/2011/11/15/gIQAQfkcPN_story.html

Furthermore Park's stand was more significant than this-- obviously both due to myth but in a really existing way as well--- parks faced fucking jail time.

FUCK CNN.

well, I'd like to debate your understanding of Marx's labor-to-value dialectic. I think the simplification you gave is misleading.

But thanks for the links man.

Forgive me, but, if possible, could we break some of this down?

terms such as unaccredited university--and--Austrian economics--in specific-- somewhat of a "EXPLAIN THIS TO MY 5 YEAR OLD" description would be greatly appreciated!

also, thanks, again.

In your "own words" would you mind describing what the misses institute is?

If that's an unrealistic expectation i apologize. Just, For the moment, i would really appreciate any attempt to discuss the ideological context before involving myself inside of it.

Leaving your description aside (not that i didn't read it, i did, and appreciate you commenting) My real questions deal with the relationship between limited government and unaccountable corporate entities, and i would love to discuss this conventional dichotomy.

Not to say i want to ignore them. Just, given the repose you gave thus far, without bodied national government- one that's based on participation (weather or not obligatory, you didn't mention) corporate oversight would be court based and thus preexisting. How would the potential society deal with misdeeds committed by prevailing and powerful corporate infrastructure?

EDIT: thanks for the link, too.
