Vote For Cannabis Legalization In CNN Poll by thatjohnnygreenin cannabis

[–]Phrag 1 point2 points ago

This is one of the more pointless polls I have seen. Virtually all the options are so vague that they are meaningless and many are redundant. Then again, after watching some of the 'irepots' its clear that the whole thing is a joke.

Porn is not sex anymore than the history channel is history. Ok, maybe a little more.

Also, most women in 'lesbian' porn are not gay.

The Shafer report also questioned the constitutionality of prohibiting possession of marijuana.

The problem is that the major candidates have pretty much the same opinion on police, voting, torture and corruption. I would say that the Dems are a bit more socially liberal, but that could just be better PR. Medical marijuana was supposed to be something that was going to change now, yet here we are over three years later.

The main problem with waiting for more support like DADT is that no one died (and in fact a few people probably lived longer) because DADT was still in place. People are suffering and dying needlessly because of the governments indefensible propaganda against medical marijuana. Why don't they reschedule it now and let the states have their programs without federal interference?

I don't understand the view that supporting medical marijuana and recreational marijuana are mutually exclusive. Why can't a 'stoner' be for both?

Yes they probably think that once people allow medical marijuana, then all of the reefer madness will be exposed as bullshit and pot will become easier to get for anyone who has their own health insurance. Legalized recreational use will even likely follow in some places.

This doesn't make it the only motivation for wanting medical marijuana. If you read into some of the cases of people who went to court for the right to use medical marijuana, then you will see how callous and unjust the state has been on this issue. I would except virtually everyone to be in favor of this if they read about people who need it regardless of their feelings on recreational pot use.

I know that the law doesn't allow for dispensaries to be for profit and near schools, but I'll never understand why marijuana, which has less potential for abuse and harm than many drugs you can get at a pharmacy, is held to higher standards than other drugs.

How many times have you been to court?

"medical marijuana" is the biggest scam perpetuated on mankind ever.

Use hyperbole much?

Several doctors have testified in court, including before the US Supreme Court, that their patients needed to use marijuana in order to maintain anything close to a decent quality of life or even life itself. You really think you know better than a doctor?

If it is such a huge scam, then why was the federal government forced to start a medical marijuana program that continues to have patients in it today after over 30 years?

If medical marijuana is such a scam, then why has Canada as well as several western European countries approved a marijuana tincture, Sativex, as legitimate and legal medicine?

The bill does not limit use to terminally ill patients. The qualifying conditions are cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus or acquired immune deficiency syndrome, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, epilepsy, cachexia, wasting syndrome, Crohn's disease, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

Research Dr. Donald Tashkin. He did the study that lead to the misinterpreted and often repeated 'fact' that smoking one joint is the same as smoking X amount of cigarettes. He also did the largest case control study to date that showed no link between marijuana smoking in any amount and increased risks of cancer.

Stronger and more addictive drugs than cocaine and heroine are legal for medical use. Why should marijuana be illegal for medical use and why is supporting legalizing medical marijuana akin to wanting recreational use of hard drugs for everyone including kids?
