Well played. I had a friend buy a road bike and start commuting to work. He rode home (unhelmeted) with me one day for burgers and beer, but we detoured to the LBS and I forced him to buy a helmet.

Two weeks later, he was launched off his bike by a car and bounced off a railing head first. He called me when he got home to thank me. You'll never see me pedaling without one!
