The greatest philosophical question of our time. by WriteOnSCin funny

Basically everyone who I told about that bachelorette while I was planning it was very excited about it too. Mostly, "Can I come?" haha

Haha. Well it was a 4 hour drive to Vegas..... can't complain though. Love that place ;)

I was maid of honor at my good friend's wedding to her partner (Two girls ). They had mostly mutual friends so decided on a joint bachelorette party (male and female friends invited) which I planned.

It was a lot of fun. Got a suite in Vegas, dinner, clubbing and went to a strip club (female strippers on the first floor, male strippers on the 2nd floor). Worked out perfectly considering the brides to be are also into guys from time to time.

Female Lion saves trainer from Male Lion by QuantoQuandoQuatroin videos

This looks a bit like the MGM in Las Vegas. Could be wrong. I love animals but hate seeing them in showcases like this. It's a lion! It's not supposed to be in a room with glass windows and fake rocks.

What does everyone seem to remember from childhood that you never experienced? I never saw the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. by maxexclooin AskReddit

Oh my god. I had never seen it until college as well. My friends were so upset and forced me to watch it. I still don't get the hype. I thought it was...ok

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I recently became a CASA with Voices for Children and my foster kid that I was matched with is really into art. I'd love to take her here.

TIL that as a sophomore at Yale in 1965, George W. Bush lashed out at a friend for calling a suspected gay student a queer, telling him "Shut up and why don't you try walking in his shoes for a while and see how it feels before you make a comment like that?" by Awkward_Hugsin todayilearned

While PEPFAR did great things for the global war on HIV/AIDS, it fell short in many ways in part due to the ideology behind it. For instance, it lost sight of the importance of prevention and it supports orgs that spew anti-gay rhetoric.

How's Po's temperament? Easy to train?

We just adopted a chow/husky mix puppy (our last Chow passed away recently at 15 years old and 2 years ago my 14 year old husky passed away) - so we were very excited to find this little one.

She is a great pup and we are trying to socialize her as much as possible. Dog park, dog beach, meeting lots of meeting.

India Girl Ends Child 'Marriage' - A young woman has her child marriage legally annulled in northern Rajasthan state, in what is thought to be the 1st case of its kind in India. by anutensilin worldnews

That's very interesting. When I was born, my mother's family accepted her back into the family. It was like a baby (me) made everything ok.

I do find it funny that Indians often don't think I'm Indian enough (I understand tamil but speaking and reading is tough for me), and some black Americans don't think I'm black enough. ha.

Terrible isn't it? Family is supposed to stick by you no matter what. At least that's how I see it.

No worries. Yes, my mother's family is hindu.

edit * My father also happens to be muslim so that was another issue.

My mother is Indian and married a black American man. She was obviously disowned by her family. 27 years later all is well. Her family loves my father (and me). But I can't imagine being disowned because she wouldn't agree to be married off to some man she didn't know.

My mother has 6 other sisters who were all married off- only 2 of them are still married today.

AmA Request: Someone who has been to Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch as a child. by jabanicatin IAmA

[–]Sprckt 4 points5 points ago

In 2007 I was sitting in an airport in the U.S. (can't remember which one) waiting for my plane to arrive. There was a group of mentally challenged kids (maybe in their late teens) with their caregivers sitting around me. One of them asked their caregiver "Are we going to Neverland Ranch?" and the others started joining in. Talking about the rides, the animals, how much fun it was the last time they went, etc. The caregiver said "No, sorry not today".

I assume at one point they had all gone to Neverland. It was really sweet to hear all of them reminiscing and talking about a wonderful experience they had. I'm a huge MJ fan and it made me smile to think he brought some happiness to those kids.

Sidenote: They all could have been making it up from imagination, but whatev.

Dog Beach in OB by ElBashamin sandiego

Dog beach is one of my favorite places in San Diego. Something about the sky, sand, water, and lots of dogs happily playing and running around. Always makes me happy ;)

Reddit, I'm a 23 year old male and have absolutely zero interest in sports of any kind. What's one thing that seems to be a huge part of your society, that you don't understand? by Adamskinaterin AskReddit

[–]Sprckt 1 point2 points ago

My boyfriend, who is 28 years old, also has zero interest in sports. It is one of the many things I love about him! He loves cars, video games, fixing stuff, documentaries, world news and politics. I love it!

I don't think I could ever go back to dating a guy who wants to watch sports all weekend. Bleh.

Reddit, My daughter is about to enter High School. What would be one piece of advice you would give her? by cagi78in AskReddit

[–]Sprckt 0 points1 point ago

Completely agree. I was never asked out in H.S. and was honestly not really interested in having a boyfriend. I had great friends who were all smart and independent. I am so thankful I didn't have the relationship drama that many girls had. I also had some guys tell me later on that they were interested but never told me in h.s. haha.

I feel I learned a lot about myself on my own and that I didn't need a man or a relationship to validate me. Has helped me greatly as an adult. Great advice!

[–]Sprckt 0 points1 point ago

Remind her of what a strong and beautiful person she is- inside and out. Make sure she knows she can come to you with anything.

Honestly, as a woman, not having a boyfriend and staying away from the girlfriend/boyfriend drama in H.S. was the best thing for me and I believe it is good for a lot of girls. Not saying she shouldn't have male friends, but many girls are not emotionally ready for a relationship at her age. So watch out ;)

Good luck!
