It's just good planning. Yes it's fairly urban but I could only walk 2-3 stops at a time. That only takes a few minutes though and then maybe a 2-3 minute drive to the next neighborhood and do it again. This was in Leesburg, Va which is pretty tightly packed. Once you master sitting down in the morning and planing the whole day's route you get it done very fast.

I worked for DHL, sometimes it was 10-12. It pretty much sucked. Lots of guys quit.

Yes, plenty of room.

No, nothing is covered or anything but by the time we had any considerable down time all the packages were gone already. Pissing and shitting often took place in the truck before we'd finished our deliveries but those were into "blood" bags used for picking up fluid samples from doctors offices and rarely(if ever) leaked/spilled.

Not much more than you'd find here already. We smoked some pot and had a few laughs but it wasn't very exciting. The more interesting stuff had to do with stealing or mistreating packages. I could tell you a little about it but I didn't take part in that kind of stuff. Feel free to ask though.

No, not for a van that size they don't. CDLs are based on weight and length, not occupation. Some civilian vehicles like motor homes are much larger than that and don't require CDLs, don't be silly.

I loved those shelves! Eventually I clued in and brought 3 pillows with me every day to sleep on like a makeshift mattress. Smoking a jay on the "top shelf" was the greatest when you knew you had a few hours to chill.

Well DHL drivers certainly don't and that's who I worked for. Also I highly doubt anyone driving a glorified van needs a CDL. I drove a Sprinter van and a CDL for that is laughable. Nice try though.

DHL. Call all the bullshit you like, I've never met a delivery driver who wasn't very similar unless they just couldn't get the hang of managing their shit. Don't get me wrong, we bust our asses for hours at a time but when we aren't busy we hide behind the mall.

We were penalized if we failed to deliver "express" packages before 10:30 which kind of sucked because that had you driving all over town to make it and then back again to deliver all the packages that aren't time-sensitive. A good driver can plan it all out in the morning and have it all done on time though. Some guys don't ever get it and end up running like chickens from 7am until 6pm though, you're right.
