They built the whole game in a week on stream all the time, with most of their viewers being from their reddit post, which is also why there are so many hats.

You should consider going ivybridge on this type of budget.

Also, how does a 16 yo get $1500?

internet browsing/youtube watching/multitasking (youtube+games at same time) take more of a toll on your CPU than your GPU, the only real tax on your gpu would be the game.

8xAA and resolution is managed by the gpu not the cpu.

Intel CPU's are much better for gaming apparently.

I'm trying to build a pc that can run most current gen games for around £500. Can anyone recommend some parts? by robertmugumbawein buildapc

[–]TheMarshmallow 1 point2 points ago

Its important to research all the parts yourself instead of just going off of what some person sent you. Not saying that peoples builds aren't good but its much better to know for yourself.

it depends what you want but 1TB is normally more than enough, and a lot of people say you don't need a drive but I like having one because burning stuff to cd's is nice.

it doesn't come with a cd drive thing to put cd's in. The HDD has a lot less space, 500GB isn't that much tbh if you have a lot of games. Bottknecking means it limits your computers performance.

doesn't come with an optical drive, the hdd is 1/4 of what you picked out and the gpu will bottlekneck you later on, probably requiring an upgrade within 2 years if you want to keep playing on ultra.

Riot, please give vision to hooked targets on Blitz's Q upon grab. by casual_fridaysin leagueoflegends

[–]TheMarshmallow -1 points0 points ago

You sound angry for some reason.

So how do you reason that olaf's axe gives vision? its an axe. it doesn't have eyes. its not a light axe of any sort.

People aren't as aware of sounds as they are of things they can see. Giving sight on an enemy when pulled would be a much better QoL change than a sound that could easily be missed.

Also, you seem to be of the opinion that Blitz could never have an image from his hand. Surely his hand has sensors that could produce some sort of image of what he is grabbing, after all you're the one that's focused on him being an advanced robot and staying true to that.

[–]TheMarshmallow -1 points0 points ago

But olaf's axe can see? where are the eyes on his axe? It isn't light, doesn't have eyes and Olaf isn't a mage as such. If olafs axe can why can't blitz's grab?

I don't, I played PS2 for a long long time and the boxes never changed. I remember going round my friends house to play his ps2 that he didn't play a lot or have a lot of games for and the towers were exactly the same when I went home and played (what can I say, I played a lot of PS2)

Hey gamers of Reddit, I'm following my long time dream and starting my own streaming channel soon. What do YOU want to see most? by Pouncival_Gamingin gaming

[–]TheMarshmallow 0 points1 point ago

One of the main things thats important for streamers is really viewer interaction. If you're actively monitoring and talking to the chat, you'll get a lot more a lot faster.

A webcam is pretty much essential because its creates more of a connection between the streamer and the viewer.

You need to keep stable times. That means you come on at the same time every time. Then people will know when you're on and when you're not, it becomes tedious to check it somebody is online constantly, so have set times you stream.

The problem with games like Sc2 and LoL is that they require constant focus and attention, meaning you don't really have to much of a chance to talk to the chat. Diablo 3 is a great game to play, its extremely mainstream at the moment and lets you chat at the same time. The only problem that comes with this is that the d3 streaming market is so inflated right now, there are literally thousands of people streaming it.

As for gathering dedicated followers, you need to have some kind of niche that people only really get when they come to you.

Right now isn't the best time to start because there are so many streamers of d3 and thats pretty much what almost everybody is watching right now, its going to be hard to pull in people when they have so much choice and there are the super popular people streaming. That is why having your own personal niche is so important.

If you're going to stream every day you need to be prepared every day. What I mean by that is, when you're streaming especially with how popular streaming is, you need to be on the ball. If you're not at your best or don't feel like streaming, you have to keep to your hours and keep at it. Even if you're not feeling at your best, you really need to try to remain as awesome as you can.

If you're not a friendly, fun, interactive streamer, you're not going to get anywhere. There are hundreds of streams of just people playing, no interaction, no fun or discussion, nothing. People can just as easily go watch some other guy who's doing the exact same thing as you but he's getting more viewers, because its going to be more lively and our instincts tell us that if one person have more viewers than another he's gonna be doing something better, and go, even if they aren't.

You're doing a bad thing by not linking your channel. To get those initial viewers, you need to have your channel up at places, you need to get publicity. If you don't have people who know you, then they're not going to come and build a firm foundation for more people to watch you.

There's probably loads more stuff I'm not thinking of right now, so feel free to shoot some questions.

TL;DR BE CONSISTENT

As everyone will tell you one better card always beats two crossfiring lesser cards.

You could just get a 2TB harddrive.

Why do you need two CD drives?

For this kind of money you should get an SSD.

I already "have" windows. Also, I don't really want a big monitor because my desk means that I will be sitting close.
