Disappointment Level: Korean by srkimin gaming

[–]apeiron12 0 points1 point ago

I was really confused by the title. I was wondering since when Koreans have been stereotyped as being good at being disappointed.

Am I the only one who didn't actually picture the staircases moving as much as them simply leading to a different place on different days?

Foreigners are the worst tippers. I understand that the tipping culture back home is different than the tipping culture here in America, but when I travel abroad, I learn the service customs and adhere to them before going. It's part of being a good tourist. My other two co-servers are from Japan (it's a Japanese restaurant), and whenever Japanese customers come in, we all get really really sad (but serve them just as well nonetheless, of course).

I'm a server, and I disagree with number 5, and 8.

5) They may have wanted to pace the food differently, or didn't know they wanted more at the time.

7) What's the point of having business hours if you don't want people to follow them? We should know that we may need to stay longer, but we're an employee, and the client's business helps the company.

This almost reminds me of the Harry/Hermione shipping Mugglenet controversy where the site's creator, Emerson, called said shippers delusional to JK Rowling. My god there was so much fallout...

Has anyone been inclined to actually learn the martial arts that the bending forms are based on? by RBGForeverin TheLastAirbender

[–]apeiron12 2 points3 points ago

Toph's style is based on the Southern Praying Mantis Style, which is pretty rare. You can watch it here. The creators made her style unique from all other earthbenders because a) she was the best earthbender and b) she was blind.

The Presidential election means nothing! Presidents can't give you what you think they can. Let's get term limits for Congress if we really want reform. by Papi99in politics

Term limits are inherently undemocratic. This is neither a good thing nor a bad thing.

Which is why I said the "area around ground zero," which is all meant to be a statement towards 9/11, and not "the twin towers."

There are actually going to be quite a few different buildings that will take up the area around ground zero. Not "one single one." Here's what it will eventually look like.

Is it just me or did Chris Colfer get like 10 times hotter in the past year? by Sboy112in gaymers

[–]apeiron12 4 points5 points ago

That's because he's not that great of an actor. His facial expressions consist of:

OMG, I can't believe this is happening to me. :'(

and

OMG, I can't believe this is happening to me! :')

Only the first half of the first season was good, then they had no idea where to go with the plot, and it just tanked harder than any show I'd seen before.

I would love to see a mini-series explaining this character: by sagisagein TheLastAirbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender -- The Art of the Animated Series

If you have not yet picked up this book and read every word of it, you're missing SO MUCH depth from the series!

Combustion Man

BRIAN: At the season-three writers' retreat, John O'Bryan pitched an idea about Firebenders combining their concentrated mental power to create nuclear explosions. My knee-jerk reaction was to say, "That's rediculous!" Half a second later it led to another idea...

MIKE: "...A Firebender who blows things up with his mind!" Bryan's idea for an assassin that Zuko hires to kill Aang became a really cool villain in season three. My favorite detail in his design is the metal arm and leg, evidence that Combustion Man had a few setbacks while learning to master his unique Firebending abilities.

[–]apeiron12 1 point2 points ago

OP must be referencing this part

"There's a giant bowl of full sized snickers...it's awesome...I'm definitly excited by it...inspired by it..."

Which is just a throw-away comment at the end of a video about how Valve has snacks for their employes...
