I really hope there isn't much gameplay around eating and drinking. I suppose eating very rare (organic) food might give a stat buff or something to that effect, but those mechanics usually become a nuisance in other settings, as it typically means "eating/drinking" every 30 minutes to maintain the buff. That said, it could be interesting to have a garden on a ship that would allow you to grow rare-find plants that would then infuse the ship's life support system with buffs or whatever. That puts a little gameplay into finding and maintaining the organics but it wouldn't be a grind to continue reaping the fruits of labor. Raiding other ships could result in "seeds" or water purifiers and the like. That could be pretty cool.
