1) You have to be able to make each other laugh. This is the most important thing. It'll bring lots of good times, but most importantly, it'll get you through the rough ones.

2) Don't move in together unless you are either a) engaged, or b) married. This is how you end up in 5 year relationships that go nowhere.

3) Having stuff in common is fun, but having similar "life" goals is VITAL.

4) If something is bothering you, SAY IT, but be reasonable. Don't let stupid insignificant shit upset you.

As far as STDs go, use a condom no matter what, and always ask if they have something. If you are worried about turning him off by bringing that up, say something like "Do you have anything I need to worry about?", or, mention that you are clean first, and then ask them. Someone who has herpes might not mention it because they are ashamed, but if you ask, most would have a hard time lying. I always ask this and I have never had a someone either react negatively or get turned off. And no matter what, once you start having multiple sex partners, get tested. AND GET THE HPV VACCINE. If you plan on having sex with more than three people, you will most likely have this at some point in your life, so get the vaccine and have at least one STD you can not worry about.

I'm an atheist. In my opinion, Satan, Odin, and/or any kind of lesser known, not judeo-christian deities, are the only acceptable mentions of religion in metal. If you are christian, and in a metal band, I honestly could care less (specially if your music is good), but keep Jesus out of the chorus.

TRAVEL. In my opinion, it's the best thing you can do with money. Spend the summer driving around Norway and kayaking in the fjords. Go on safari in Kenya and see the wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara. Go to Cape Agulhas, in South Africa, and see where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. Have breakfast by the banks of the Irrawadd in Bagan. Go diving with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos.

The are some incredible things out there. If you have the chance, DO IT.

The pill is the way to go. If you are don't smoke, and are healthy, it has good health benefits in the long run, and helps with PMS and menstrual cramps. It also clears up the skin. Tell her to go with a low-dose one though and get plenty of calcium.

Your girl sounds awesome and it sounds like you care a lot about her and really enjoy her company. Hot one night stands are fun, and easy, but finding someone you are truly happy and comfortable around, is really fucking hard. If you truly only think about breaking up with her to be with hotter women, it's not worth it.
