Got to admit that one is damn impressive. It's a run you remember. Still don't get much pleasure seeing our hated rival run over the hapless (thought improving!) cougs. Oh well, I am sure i'll have less animosity towards you if we actually beat you again someday.

Thought I'd share some of my Buddhist tattoos. by Crooked_Cucumberin Buddhism

[–]belhamster 3 points4 points ago

I tend to agree with you, so I don't have tatoos:). However like any ritual if done correctly it can be a reminder of not-self. At least that is how I understand it as a non-ritualistic type person. Maybe someone who finds a lot of value in their ritualistic practices can chime in.

Am I missing out on something by lying down instead of sitting? Anyone else meditate while prostrate? by f0nd004uin Meditation

[–]belhamster 0 points1 point ago

I meditate lying down in the morning for 30 minutes. I have no issue of falling back asleep if I am well rested. I am fairly active so I am often stiff and sore in the morning- which makes sitting difficult.

At lunch I sit for 20 minutes, both because I want to improve on that and because you have less a tendency to get drowsy. Just my experience practice for now. As an fyi.

I have never used marijuana. As a result, all I know is based on the seemingly constant praise and justification it receives on the internet. Reddit, what are your worst experiences with the drug and why is it illegal? by MagikalGiantin AskReddit

For me, the biggest issue was that I wouldn't get that high because my tolerance was so high. Though, for some reason I felt I still needed it. I didn't want the attachment to something, something I felt like I needed to have fun, enjoy an activity. I was dependent- and it wasn't that good anymore! I wanted to get beyond that. Saving a lot of money is nice. Being more willing to do things that don't involve weed, like spend time with my family, travel etc. Others may control their use better and therefore not have the tolerance like I had.

Oh yeah and there's possible health issues, you inhale that much smoke there has to be.

I support legalization, but it's addicting, and can be very difficult to quit.

Just an FYI. I made some money in college setting nails on decks for a guy that would then sand them down with a floor sander. I don't know if that's necessary, but it would most likely save some sand paper.

Oh and who doesn't love a crappy as job.

I flew out to Oahu a couple weeks ago. The convenience is awesome. I'd rather have gone to the Big Island, however, $300 cheaper, no dealing with driving to Sea Tac, parking etc made it a great choice. Maui is going to be the a great option.

It's too bad it's mis-attributed. Maybe it's a tad nostalgic, but it doesn't advocate throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I guess I just liked and related to the quote more than you :) oh well.

TIL about Buddhist Anarchism by WimpyAssFaggotin Buddhism

[–]belhamster 0 points1 point ago

The thing is there's checks and balances on the governemt: the vote, the judicial system, two houses of congress, the executive branch. None of those would be recourses to the most powerful warlord in a anarchist system. I'll never claim the checks and balances are perfect but they're better than the alternative imho.
