I'm very insecure and it's killing our relationship... by sjordanxcxin relationships

[–]cabbagehater 0 points1 point ago

Realized that whether I was jealous or not, if my man wants to, he will leave for another woman. Jealousy makes it easier.

I found building confidence is the only way to go. Accept that you need to change, and do it. (Being more social, finding things I liked to do, buying a new wardrobe, etc.)

I may be able to pay for her initial visits after selling a lot of my things. I'll have to work weekends at a bar/club to gain the rest, but I think she'll be okay.

She was my childhood best friend. I'm not letting her die for something that can be fixed.

The main argument is the inconvenience, which is total BS in my opinion.

Is it wrong to put down a dog just because they have diabetes? by cabbagehaterin AskReddit

[–]cabbagehater[S] -1 points0 points ago

It'll be 1-2k a year, maybe more, to keep the dog alive. That's mostly due to blood work from the vets than her insulin or food. So it's a bit of a burden, but nothing like 8k.

The thought I can have her for 3 more years just for some money and work is what keeps me going.

That's what's causing this whole fight. I told them I would do it and have given up everything for this dog now, and now everyone is calling/writing me to 'have a mature, adult discussions' about what's best for the dog.

I've tried explaining this to them, but they say it's our responsibility to 'put her down'.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. The vet first thought the dog had kidney failure and I was sure we'd have to put her down if I couldn't raise the funds. It's hard, doing all you can but nothing comes of it.

They think it'll burden me with 'thousands of dollars', but I'm prepared to do ANYTHING for this animal. I've sold my video games and consoles, and I'm starting to sell my board games, pictures, etc. so I can have money to pay for her. If it means having a second part time job on the weekends for a few hours, I'd do it.

I don't think they know much about the disease and they're not listening to me or what the vet is saying. Their main argument is that I woukdn't be living with my BF anymore and that's "not fair to my BF", but personally I think it's not fair to expect my life to revolve around my relationships.

As long as her kidney results keep coming back positive, then I'll be okay. Right now I'm trying to cover the cost of examination, diagnostics and training.

He first told me he was sure there would be kidney damage and asked how far I wanted to go to save my animal. He ran tests and found out she's diabetic with a high risk of kidney failure. We'll have to go through training, buy insulin, and change her diet and life. She'll need constant care now and blood work every few months. I'm looking at 1-2 a year just for blood work, probably more for urinary samples and the like.

She seems happy now, so I'll give her what life I can.

Now that she'll be mine, I'll buy pet insurance. :S

p.s. thank you for being a kind light in dark times.

We went to him today. He was very, very wonderful. He was nice about my pet's anxiety. Thank you very, very much.

1) I don't need to arrange a vehicle because I own one, that I pay for.

2) I made it clear I wasn't asking for a hand out. I am asking for jobs. I am asking people to let me clean their house or car, then slip me a 20, and let me be on my way.

3) Yes, and when she gets sick again, I will again do whatever it takes to take care of her. I am selling my possessions to pay for her. I am dedicated to this animal.

4) I think you deserve a wake up call if you think it's appropriate to make inappropriate and false assumptions to someone whose asking for help. You assumed I have her locked up all day (false, she's with my family and has people around her all day), that I don't own a car, that I am irresponsible, that I need a dog walker, that I bought her because of a 'trend', or that I don't have long term plans.

It is an insult to make false assumptions about someone's life. You knew nothing from my post other than a) my dog is sick and b) I want jobs to raise money.

I'm sorry if this comes off more dickish, but it's been a rough week, and my one year anniversary with my significant other was spent in a vet clinic and then going through our things to sell. I think you should consider how these posts can affect the receiving party.

I know, but I want to try first. If she's in pain and won't last long, I'll let her go.

It's possibly an organ failure. My friend who works in a vet clinic quoted me for 2k+, but we're taking her in tomorrow for an "official" quote. No, no pet insurance.

She's lost all her weight, urinates frequently and vomits, also has boils under her eyes. She's 10-11.

2k+. PM me and I can do it before I work at 2:00PM or I can do it on the weekend.

One day, someone you love will die, and I hope nobody is there to help you.
