Where to find dog friendly housing in Columbus? (~$750-$1000 budget) by bhone17in Columbus

Just posted today! I grew up on Tibet and I can attest that it is one of the nicest streets in all of Clintonville. The pet fees put it right on the upper end of your budget, but I don't think you'll find a nicer place in a better neighborhood. Good luck!
Who should I call to rescue cats from the roof of our building? by thecrowdsourcerorin Columbus
[–]corvuskorax 0 points1 point2 points 4 days ago
Columbus is pretty much shit for issues with stray cats. Especially in terms of rescue. You're going to be hard-pressed to find anyone willing to actually come out and get them.
The best option I've found is renting a catch-cage (perfectly non-harmful) from one of the Animal Shelters or organizations and catching the cat(s). After that (assuming they're not feral - in which case no one will take them) you can call local shelters to try to get them placed. Cat Welfare will take any cat that is sick or injured, but are reluctant to take healthy adults or kittens.
As a last resort (if you don't have access to your roof), you can tell a tiny fib and call the fire department and say the cats are yours and they got stuck on your roof. Once they're rescued, sure, you wind up responsible for their care, but that's often the result when trying to go through other agencies anyway.
Good luck!

..Are you.. Are you some kind of IT cowboy?
Thanks for the suggestions, I've bookmarked all of those things to look into later on today! Hopefully this combination will be the combination that sends them home makes the site work.

Yeah, I think the traffic is still freaking out from the comic this morning. But thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. There are more pages available (not all, but some) on dA.

It's still young, so it's not published yet. It's actually available in webcomic form (for free!) on the base site: FindChaos That particular character has currently only made a couple appearances, but the whole story is dark.
Ahhh, I see now. That's actually a character from a graphic novel I illustrate, it's definitely not meant to be me (though I'm flattered? He's not a bad looking serial killer).
Luckily, someone else asked to see it earlier. Here's an awkward self-pic of it from this morning.

I can't really speak for the lesbian population as a whole, but my own personal choice towards short hair is, in my opinion, totally unrelated to my sexuality. I actually had my hair cut like this since the 5th grade, and a large part of my reasoning was that I loved to play sports with the boys, but they had a knack for grabbing my hair to stop/tackle me. It was annoying.
Later in life (just a couple of years ago, in fact) I tried growing out my hair, and it just.. looked.. awful. I think short hair suits my facial features better and it's way easier to take care of, so I went back to it.

Moltar..? Also, when the site manages to recover, this is where it all usually resides. The funny stuff, anyway, plain ol' FindChaos.com is my wife's and my more serious comic.

Aww, I tried it, but WordPress was a butt and I couldn't make it work. It's also possible that I am dangerously incompetent.
Dreamhost does sound interesting, though their "in my price range" packages seem like they might offer roughly the same CPU handling I have with our current host. I might contact one of their staff directly to confirm this. It's not the bandwidth or the storage that's our biggest problem, it's just CPU.

I like that we thought the same thing one minute apart. I'd shake your hand, but... ..eh...

Not a rebut or influenced, in my opinion, just something we experience all of the time. Also, as a lesbian, I find that comic equal portions of funny and offensive.

Hey, don't worry about feeling weird. For one thing, the gender wasn't really important (except in this rare exception), and for another, ladies are just people, too. I'm probably more standard-guy-like than a lot of guys I know.
Also, yes! It's probably getting Reddit-Struggle-Snuggled right now, but just follow this link-- ChaosLife --whenever it's free again! It'll probably come and go, but be back very soon.

We shot it with a potato. (Or a early 2000s non-smartphone, which amounts to the same thing. Our phones are antiques.)

I'm.. a little lost, so if you could be more specific on that 'art model' picture? I don't recall drawing anything with myself in it that would fit that description, if that helps. I've always drawn myself as depicted in the comic, which yes, is meant to be me.

Girly with rounded vowels. She sounds like a dainty lady, especially compared to my voice.
While I'm a little skeptical of whether you're subtly trolling or not, I'll still answer because this is something getting brought up a lot.
We live in the midwest, even in a fairly big city in a very liberal neighborhood, but this still is a genuine, common occurrence. We usually get some sort of verbal reaction at least once per hour-long walk, and we've also had worse experiences, but I chose to keep the material a little lighter.
Not to brush off your experiences, but what you have personally witnessed happen to LGBT people may not necessarily reflect what they experience 24/7. There have already been many people from the LGBT community commenting who share experiences like these, or those who have seen it happen.
While I'm glad you supposedly support equality, I think you might be seeing the lives of average LGBT people through rose tinted glasses. This comic wasn't meant as a political statement or an exaggeration. I used quotes from real people we've met because this is a literal interpretation of our day-to-day lives.
Also, sorry it wasn't your cup of tea!

Walk-by high-fives are awesome. They also happen a lot when we're walking around at 4 am, but I think those people are just really drunk.

You know, I wasn't introduced to his work until well after I'd started drawing webcomics, but I absolutely love his work. It's been killing me waiting for Boxer Hockey to update, though I totally understand: that is one seriously busy and sometimes unlucky guy. He's a trooper.

Then we can be misanthropes together! Except we'd hate each other.
It should, in theory, and it probably does, but the number of people who either use a provided link or type it out themselves is still outrageously high. I'm grateful, yet scared.
[–]corvuskorax[S] 14 points15 points16 points 6 days ago
Yes, yes it is, but ones that can handle Reddit's body check cost a lot more. On the upside, a large chunk of the other ChaosLife comics are rehosted on Imgur and are easily browsed in my submission history!
[–]corvuskorax[S] 139 points140 points141 points 6 days ago
Hey, if you really want. I don't personally hear the resemblance, I just hear me and that's weird enough.
[–]corvuskorax[S] 22 points23 points24 points 6 days ago
Thanks for that.
I'd like to point out that, much like in the comic, we don't go on the offense towards people or even give them dirty looks. If nothing else, I hoped the strip would just show a slice of our day-to-day lives, just like any of the others do. The fact it sometimes contains rude or boundary-invading people is just a part of it all.
