First World Problems: I moved to Osaka, and the 7-11's in Japan don't sell slurpees. I've never wanted one until I found out that I can't get one.

My boyfriend always makes fun of me because I think milk is disgusting. What are some "normal" foods or drinks that you just can't stomach? by RainbowBrite420in AskReddit

The Kiten-zushi in town, called Sushi-ro, has a huge array of things that are neither raw nor seafood. Meatball sushi, roast pork sushi, teriyaki chicken sushi, beef sushi, corn (with mayo) sushi, egg sushi (though that's common anywhere), and so on. The place is easily my favorite restaurant.

For the longest time I absolutely hated avocados. The smell would make me gag. But then, oddly enough, I just got an urge to make some gucamole and fell in love with the stuff. Same thing happened to beer, blue cheese, and sushi.

Just so you know, sushi doesn't automatically equal raw or even seafood.

What have you done, said, or thought that immediately made you think "Oh. My. God. I'm turning into my mother/ father!" by wanderingbark116in AskReddit

When I am home, and my grandmother, grandfather, or aunts call and they think I am my mom. It's not just when I say "hello" either. It can be entire conversations and they not realize.

I'm currently working with Vector Marketing (A division of Cutco) is it a scam? by marcooshain AskReddit

[–]doogytaint 0 points1 point ago

Eh, that's not completely true. I know quite a few females who sell sex toys for legitimate companies, and they had to pay upfront. That's, like, literally, the only example I can think of though.

I've always wanted to go to Japan but I'm worried about the language barrier. Is the language barrier difficult? by Jophicin AskReddit

[–]doogytaint 1 point2 points ago

Eh, you may have some difficulties but you will definitely get by. I've lived in Osaka for the past month, and it's surprising how much English is out here. In addition, people are more than willing to help you out. Going out to eat, buying groceries, taking the trains, all of this is possible without knowing any Japanese. Don't get me wrong, you are most definitely limiting yourself, but you will certainly have a wonderful time out here.

Sleep talking, What interesting things have you talked to people about while waking them up from sleep or them waking you up? by devilyn_sidein AskReddit

[–]doogytaint 0 points1 point ago

I talk almost every night, or so I have been told by my boyfriend at the time.

Me: "It's a good little milkshake machine."

Him: laughing "oh, is it?"

Me: "Perfect portions"

Another

Me: "how come I can't do you like you do me?" I had a dream that my boyfriend and I had switched genitalia, and I was trying to fuck him.

Another

Him (he's the one sleeping this time): dirty pervy laugh "Heheheh, we gonna tear dat ass"

There's tons more, most of them nonsensical. I've also woken myself up from laughing about three times.

And her makeup skills are on point. Despite if you like the final outcome, you have to admit that that takes skill. I recently tried dabbing in makeup for the first time, I'm 23, and that shit is not nearly as easy as one would think.

Relevant story time!! So, a couple of my friends were out after the bars closed and got the drunk munchies. The only thing open was White Castle, so to get slyders is where they went. They pulled up to the drive through, and was told (in a thick Indian accent) "One moment please". They waited and waited, but was just repetitively told over and over again "one moment please". They say fuck it, and head indoors. As they are digging into their burgers some ten minutes later, the nearby bathroom door flings open and a man steps out, while doing his pants saying "one moment please.....one moment please" and made his way back to the counter. Laughs were had

Every once in a while, youtube has a good point. by browntown92in funny

I imagine the context was there was a comment saying how the video's song was catchy, as a compliment. And this is the response to why something being catchy doesn't automatically made it good.

TIL Google Earth has a "Historical Imagery" Tool by RogerMexicoin todayilearned

[–]doogytaint 0 points1 point ago

While I appreciate the info, it's really interesting, I fear that you are breaking a couple of rules on the side bar and it might get removed.

  1. "Submissions must be verifiable. Please link directly to a reliable source that supports the claim in your post title. Images alone do not count as valid references. Videos are fine so long as they come from reputable sources (e.g. BBC, discovery, etc)."

  2. "No trivial or obvious facts (e.g. "TIL the sky is blue"), or facts that appeal only to a narrow audience, specifically no software/website tips (e.g. "TIL you can click on widgets in WidgetMaker 1.22")."

Just wanted to give you a heads up, though I could be wrong.

Dude, you have over 2400 karma. Yeah, massive downvotes can suck but doesn't meant you can't post again because, apparently, most of the time you're doing it right.

Edit: Odd, I didn't meant to post this. I clicked out of the page once I recalled people have the ability to RES tag and so figured what I said might've been buttkiss. I have no idea how it has gotten here

[–]doogytaint 1 point2 points ago

I never said I did any good deeds. Matter of fact, I am just as guilty (though I have volunteered in low income soup kitchens but they were much better off than people in third world countries, so that doesn't really matter). I wasn't bashing anyone either, I'm not sure why you are taking it as an attack. I said it's basic human nature, am I wrong in that? Matter of fact, aside from my interpretation of the picture, because that's subjective, was I wrong in anything I said about how most people don't care because it isn't our problem? I'm just as guilty as everyone else, which is why I liked the image.
