Firstly, it's probably up for debate whether Dwan has any kind of significant edge against the top NLHU players today, so saying he's definitively 'top three' is highly contentious because not only are there possibly quite a few players better than him, but there's just no way to measure it. I don't question that he's an amazing player though. The same applies to Ivey. As far as NL goes, some might argue Dwan holds some kind of edge over Ivey, but it's pretty clear that Ivey is more well rounded just going by results. I just think you're overestimating the importance of mathematics at the highest stakes. It mainly comes down to hand reading, brm, deception, emotional control and knowing your opponent. Guys like Isaac Haxton have said in the past that the math only takes you so far, which is why players who take a more intuitive approach can compete with more math oriented players. Do you seriously think someone like Isildur cares about game theory? But even then, I'm sure Phil Ivey approaches the game very logically and strategically as opposed to just guessing randomly all the time based on 'feel'. Your above statement is kinda weird and screams conjecture because you don't know anything intricate about the way either player thinks.
