Free Slurpee today at 7-11 by Vinnyb90in freebies

[–]freeseasy 5 points6 points ago

Slurpee fans may be wondering why the chain is offering free Slurpees when it usually does on 7-Eleven Day on July 11 every year (which will still be happening.) The company said that this free Slurpee day is to help promote the new line of sugar-free Slurpees that were recently announced.

Hey Kevin, when I first saw you, I was convinced that you were Lard Ass from Stand By Me grown up and (slightly) slimmed down; a la Jerry O'Connell, do you get that often?

We charge $675 for CJ/Wrangler tubs. Sounds like you're getting a good price. FWIW, if possible get the Hardline coating over the Tuff Grip. The Tuff Grip is awesome, but it is softer then the Hardline. Throwing a sharp/heavy items in your rig can possible gouge the Tuff Grip.

How aggressively can I prune these bushy tomato plants in order to get them into cages? by GritsConQuesoin gardening

[–]freeseasy 4 points5 points ago

Tomato cages are worthless for tomatoes in my experience. They are awesome for peppers and eggplants, though. My method for supporting tomatoes is to sink four 2x2 posts in the ground around the plant and tie it up with either baling wire or twine. I've been able to do this to a tomato as overgrown as yours without having to prune at all.

The special features on the Year One DVD included a funny version of this, using McLovin as Leroy. It's a must watch.

I would worry then, that sounds a bit sketchy. When we charge customers based on labor hours, we tell them that the labor hours will not exceed X hours. Keep in mind that the nation-wide Rhino warranty program only applies to truck beds, not the interiors of Jeeps. While that particular shop might honor the job, I doubt any other Rhino dealership will honor that work, so I would do the homework to make sure that the shop does good work.

Well, bring your rig in. Spraying the tub of a CJ or Wrangler is $675. For prep we just ask that you remove all but the drivers seat and seatbelt (so you can drive to the shop).

Who do you think was the greatest American-born film director during the sound studio system (1929-59)? by rewdeain TrueFilm

[–]freeseasy 1 point2 points ago

Frank Capra has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up appreciating the cinema of the 70's and developing a love for realism in film. Despite that, I routinely feel the need to toss in a little Harvey or It's a Wonderful Life from time to time just to keep me sane.

In Southern California the market is a bit tougher. We have to charge those prices to stay competitive.

Prices vary a great deal depending on your location. Here at our shop, we charge $434.88 for a short bed, under the bed rail, full size pick-up.

I've never had the chance to lower the price for the customer doing prep work themselves*. Even if a customer did the prep work on their own, I would still have my techs do a full prep job on the truck, just to make sure that the job was done correctly and we can warranty the work. If a customer did a shoddy job on the prep, they might hold us liable to fix the liner when it fails. *this is for a standard application. We just had a truck in our shop that had a basket case of a bed that I had to charge an extra couple hours of labor for the clean out; the customer could have saved themselves the extra charge had they chosen to clean out the bed themselves.

The entire job can be done in about 2 hours if the tech hustles. I prefer to tell my customers 4-5 hours just to be safe (a lot of things can go wrong and slow the job down). Keep in mind that although the liner is dry enough to walk on in just about 15 seconds, plan on not using the bed for heavy use for 24 hours after the spray.

I work at a Rhino Linings dealer. We've sprayed the tubs of a number of rigs, here's a video of a Bronco and another video of a military jeep that we've sprayed in the past. I can answer any questions you might have about the Rhino or the application process.

Any clues on this weird electrical problem with my '99 V70? by kevanin Volvo

[–]freeseasy 3 points4 points ago

First and easiest step, check the battery and the connections to the battery. If your battery isn't mounted securely and one of the terminal connectors is loose, you might be losing juice sporatically. Other then that, it could be a whole host of issues from a short to a bad vacuum hose. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help, I'm not a mechanic, just some things I've experienced. Good luck.

Where is a good place around here to go and cry? by CMBeumontin LosAngeles

[–]freeseasy 0 points1 point ago

There is a small section in Runyon Canyon Park that is fairly isolated. About 100' or so from the benches at the top is a small trail going off to the right. The trail is fairly overgrown, but it dumps out into a clearing that has spectacular views and I've never been disturbed there (I like to go up there for a bit of a smoke session from time to time).

I had a ridiculously crappy day at work yesterday. While driving home, I threw in the Flood CD and blared "Birdhouse In Your Soul." I was feeling better by the time I got home. Not too many songs that have such an effect on me.

My mother and young brother were on the show back in ~'98. Nothing ghetto in nature, the show dealt with people who had survived miraculous situations. It was real when they were on, but it was a different show then, before it became Jerry Springer II
