10 Sci-Fi Faster-Than-Light Systems - Popular Mechanics by apattin printSF

There were attempts to make FTL travel in the series (by using the inertia-modifier machines to give a Lighthugger net Negative or Imaginary mass), but it...didn't go well.

It's implied that any screwup with that kind of FTL has the nasty side effect of erasing people (perhaps even entire civilizations) from history...

Yesterday's Enterprise by Alexisofrosesin sto

[–]gehringer 0 points1 point ago

I know this is an old comment, but...

The comic 'Star Trek: Countdown' has it, saying Data sorta implanted his brain on B-4s and gradually returned.

Countdown also has Data as captain of the Enterprise-E, wearing a uniform from STO (the 'Sierra 1', IIRC), and it tells the story of Spock and Nero's fight before and just after Hobus went nova and destroyed Romulus.

They're deliberately trying to get the least bang for the most buck possible. Selecting all the most expensive parts possible. It's a joke.

Do any of the world's religions, besides Christianity, advocate that their creation story be considered science? by dgrstlin TrueAtheism

It's been that way for a bit longer then people give it credit for, actually..I mean, the guy who basically created the idea of genetics, Gregor Mendel, was a Catholic monk.

It was built in the 70s, there was probably some Asbestos or other nasty stuff you don't want escaping into the air inside it.

Gordon Ramsay goes undercover, and takes a cooking class. by CplCucumberin videos

[–]gehringer 0 points1 point ago

No, it isn't. I watch both, and the American hosts have a much different dynamic going. They're not quite as acidic with each other (and the mocking's not quite as good matured/friendly, since Ruledge, Tanner and Adam don't seem to have known each other for as long.)

Besides, Russia and Australia have their own Top Gears, why can't America?

I enjoyed it too, I just don't like her voice quite as much as I like David Attenborough's.

Top Gear America's not too bad. It's just...different. The American hosts have a different dynamic going (and that's really a good thing. If they deliberately tried to just completely copy the british one, it would suck horribly.)

I'm annoyed at Attenborough being replaced, but hey, there're worse choices then Sigourney Weaver...It could've been someone really pandering and dumb, like Larry the Cable Guy.

Just bounce a graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish. That ought to fix the problem.
