Unfortunately, I hold no respect for America in it's current form.

The U.S. is a trillion dollar business run by bankers, lobbyists, and military force.

There is no "collective" or "people" in America.

There are hoards of people living in housing situations that place people right next to each other and they will never even know each other's names.

I don't know if it's America or if it's all over the world (i'm going to check soon) but all I've seen here in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is a corrupt system that tries to tie everyone into some sort of debt so that you're held down in a position where you pay off a sum of your money to some giant company in the sky.

Not sure what county or state, but in Broward County, Florida the school board lays out in plain text what you can do in situations like these.

There is actually a set of "laws" that most schools must follow. They are generally offered in the form of a document you sign at the beginning of the year that outlines your rights as a student, as well as your responsibilities as a student. The document also discusses what matters are legal matters and which are school matters.

Throughout Broward County, if you are suspended and you feel it was unjust, you are (supposed to be) given a chance to explain yourself and why you believe they were wrong.

The alternative solution, if you feel like not being so nice to the school, is to hire a lawyer and sue the school for everything its got.

It was deemed unconstitutional to force students to pledge. The proper way to handle such a situation is to ensure that peace is kept and the student not pledging does not make a scene or disrupt regular class functions. (unfortunately, the teacher is usually the one that makes the scene)

There are various stories spread throughout physical and digital mediums that can describe how students won cases against entire boards of education simply because the teachers and principles don't know how to respect the rights of their students.

EDIT: I'd love to see a teacher even utter the word "suspension" at me over this situation.

It's definitely a fierce topic with a variety of considerations.

The best part of the topic is that most controversy is based on interpretation and not written law.

But hey, I'd put my kid in a room where some adult controls his/her every movement.

Those children aren't forced, they just aren't educated.

By 5th grade I learned that I had the right to choose to quietly sit while everyone else proceeded to show their "patriotism."

From 6th grade until 11th grade it was always an issue for the first two weeks.

Eventually either the teacher learned that I wasn't going to just agree to do something I don't agree with, or I would end up speaking with the principal about how forced patriotism is false patriotism and thus serves no purpose.

I'm pretty sure if bombs are involved, it's open season for the squad sent out to handle the situation.

If people's lives are in danger and it becomes apparent that a risk is REAL, I'm sure they have the right to fire at the perpetrator. Don't think that simply cause you placed the bomb and became complacent afterwards that they'll have mercy on you.

Of course, if the bomb is fake/defused/no one is harmed I'm sure you'll enjoy a lengthy sentence (but at least you keep your life).
