Not at all. In what respect does a gamer or retailer owe a developer anything?

Why do people get so pissy about pre-orders? You're buying the game anyway. It's a 5 dollar deposit. I wipe my ass with five dollars. Not to sound like a salesman. But shit, it goes towards the game. It guarantees warehouse sends me a copy. It's a like layaway for those of you who work minimum wage jobs (Which includes my entire staff). If you get your games through amazon and steam I get that you're not preordering. But what about you who go out to get the game release day.
Also, I have never told a customer we didn't have a game in stock for them unless they pre-ordered. Unless, all copies that were in the store were pre-ordered. I get hyped about games. So if I get a guy asking for GoW3 and I say did you have it pre-ordered. He says no. I grab his copy and say you missed out on some neat free content. And I talk about the season pass. Ask him if he'll be coming to our crazy midnight launch with live band for Battlefield and Call of Dookie. If he says yes I explain the benefit of preordering. He does or doesn't and I thank him and tell him to have a fantabulous day.

And then they made up for it like this http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/26/gamestop-deus-ex-apology/
I get where you're coming from, but here's how I see it as a pre-owned buyer and new buyer.
If I buy a used game and it blows. I can return it. Price difference is whatever. It's more about being able to return. In regards to your parasite claim, it's money. It's a business. New games net a store about 3 dollars per copy. This is the reason Best Buy is now selling preowned.
Two, we're not selling a magazine. It's a perk to the getting of discounts on used merchandise.
Three - That's like telling McDonald's to not hire black people. It's a standard of business practice that is in place across the country. Buy some goo gone.
Four - Not true. Every store in the MLPS/St. Paul area was out of Dead Island. This includes Wal-mart, Gamestop, and Best Buy. We actually had associates from all of these locations calling us to find the game.
Five - If you know what game you want and you don't want to be hassled maybe you do belong on amazon. The point is, if you don't like the way business is handled at gamestop, don't shop there. No one threatens you to go in there.
I've been gaming for about 19 years. I know what I want when I walk into a game store. Doesn't mean I don't wanna BS and talk about the great games coming out. And hey maybe I'll pre-order because free shit is nice. Your entire argument is invalid. You are literally generic dissatisfied elitist prick.
As far as a parasite. Retailers, gamers, and distributors owe game development companies NOTHING. And vise-versa, they owe the masses nothing. If we have used product to sell. We obviously had to have sold a new copy to begin with.
God do people read what they type after they type it?

I don't think I've ever heard of GAME. Links, pics, n00dz? Actually curious. Are they a local shop or something. We used to have Gamecrazy.
Shit it's like a liquidation sale for new games. I'd shop at Kmizzle if I didn't get a 15% discount.

Snap. But isn't there a catch to those things, like the game has to be paid in full by x date and blah blah. The only thing I can say to counter that is that GS offers trade bonuses towards upcoming titles, as well as we have people who actually know about games. I understand some people like to get their game and go. But some people like to sit around and nerd out. I mean we had a live band for our gears launch. It was a blast.
We check out used games. Like I said, we just don't agree with that being okay. I'm sure it's allowed but most of us trade games between each other. One of us usually buys the new game that comes out every week. Hell, I'm picking up Ico & SoTC HD, Splinter Cell Trilogy, and Xmen Destiny this Monday night at midnight. I usually buy half the games that come out.
No one insinuates that everyone including yourself has no concern with this post. But there's a few above you. Reevaluate your statement and you will find the answer young padadouche.
There's a lot of talk about jumping into the PC world. Unfortunately, the demand just isn't as high as it used to be with Steam completely dominating the market with the sales that there is no way we can compete with. I like to think that Gamestop should be the one stop shop for all gaming needs. Peripherals, video cards, the works, as I am an avid PC gamer in addition to my console gaming hobbies. However, Gamestop is going to follow the trend and begin selling digital copies of a great deal of games. Woohoo DLC. Each store is allocated more of what they sell. If I sold 35 PC games a day, the company would bombard me with PC games. Luckily, we have store lookup, and I happily call, verify that the specific store has the item in question, then I have them ship it store-to-store. I know with retail it's always a luck of the draw with what kind of employee you get helping you. The store closest to us has a manager who used to manage a blockbuster, and knows jack squat about games. Whereas our store manager, is an absolute junkie for video games. 200k gamerscore on xbox, favorite game series is the persona series, all around geek. It's excellent, and my entire staff is the same way. Luck of the gamestop I suppose. And girl gamers, not too rare ;)
Steam I heard has some great deals. And I'm not opposed to that for PC. I've heard horror stories about Amazon though. But then again, I've heard horror stories about Gamestop. It's so weird. I hear things like GS employees take new games home to rent. And other things. I have yet to see an employee take a new game home without purchasing it. It's one of those do you really think it's right to sell that as new. I guess we have morals at my gamestop. I'm downvoting myself for having morals.
Which "bad" game do you wish they would give a second chance and remake from scratch? by go1den3yein gaming

I think the entire Resistance series had a lot of potential. But I feel like it was rushed. Great storyline, needed more development on the characters. Deeper focus. They soap opera'd it and killed off people when they didn't want to talk about them anymore.
People spend too much time focusing on DN:4ever. It was bad because it is supposed to be bad. Cheesy, poor gameplay goodness. I actually enjoyed that craptacular game.
