Just be careful...nothing wrong with relaxing after a long day at work, but if you're constantly smoking to avoid negative emotions, it will come back to bite you in the ass.

I agree that getting Trichinosis is pretty unlikely if you're in the US (there are only about 11 cases a year in the whole country), but on the other hand, it's just basic food safety to use separate cutting boards for raw or raw-ish meat.

You do it for a job, so of course you have higher standards, people are paying you to do it. But he's just cooking for himself and a friend - it doesn't really matter if he chops his onions unevenly or not, as long as it comes out tasting fine. It doesn't have to be god-tier restaurant quality.

I think the problem is that we just don't have the tech to prove or disprove it. Normally we measure levels using blood tests - but since the theory is that it's created and absorbed in the brain, it never hits the blood stream.

The time that works best for me is at night - I used to have a lot of problems with insomnia because I'd lie in bed thinking about all the things that I felt upset about. I'd take a ton of melatonin every night to knock me out so I'd just skip past the thinking part.

Ever since I started meditating at night, it's like it signals to my brain "Oh hay, time for bed now", and by the time I'm done sitting I feel calm and sleepy and just want to get into bed. I haven't had to take melatonin in at least a month or two (started about 5 months ago).

Psychedelics. There's something weird and time expandy about it, plus you can't really do anything adult or productive, which is perfect when you're the kind of person who has trouble voluntarily relaxing. It's like taking a week long vacation all crammed into one day.
