In Mexico, VP Biden Rejects Drug Legalization Talk by mrmagxlin politics

Agreed, but who would Obama pick? Hillary? Napolitano? None of the choices are really any better.

I think you just made the case for The Daily Chronic. They DO have original material - like I said previously, I'm a daily reader - and stories you won't find elsewhere. Many of the articles I've read weren't on NORML, MPP, or any other sites. So I wouldn't say "their business model isn't based around using other people's writing."

Do you have any proof that The Daily Chronic doesn't cut a check for the articles they republish?

So, by your logic, I should go to 7+ websites to see if they've published something new, right? And while I'm at it, I should pick up the New York Times, Chicago Chronicles, Boston Globe, Denver Post, Los Angeles Times, and countless other newspapers to see if there's an article I'm interested in reading?

Than that would eliminate almost every article in /r/news and /r/politics that is written by The Associated Pres, UPI, Reuters, not to mention any links to an news report from a CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX affiliate.

Like I've said previously, I appreciate what The Daily Chronic is doing. And given the fact that you are posting from a shell account that was obviously set up for the sole purpose of this conversation, I'm guessing that you're simply trying to discredit what TDC has been doing.

Most blogs out there offer only a limited view on the weed world (NORML, MPP, etc) based on each org's political agenda and what they view as important. Others (Toke of the Town, TheWEED Blog) seem to be opinionated summaries but not really news. And there really isn't a better place online for weed news.

Before I found TDC, I was sifting through Reddit, Google news, and my Facebook news feed for hours to find news about marijuana legalization, and visiting tons of websites each day. I like having it all in one place.

I have to admit, before Reddit I had never heard of The Daily Chronic. But I subscribed to their RSS a few weeks back after I started reading a bunch of their articles, and I appreciate the fact that they've pulled in news from other sources and sites.

Yes, I noticed from the beginning that some of their articles were from other sources - it's posted right on TDC. Its actually saved me a lot of time checking this site or that one to see if I missed something. Plus, I'm usually at work when reading, and I don't have to worry about TDC being NSFW -- it looks like I'm just reading the paper.

I like what TDC has said about donating the ad revenue from these articles, and I hope that it's true. But just in case, I make sure I go to NORML or stopthedrugwar.org from time to time and click an ad or two. Every little click helps, right?

And as far as the OP's question, I kinda like the fact that TDC is dominating /r/marijuana - i can see the day's headlines without having to sift through thousands of not-funny rage comics and annoying memes on /r/trees.
