You might be right, I just figured I'd ask them because I know that if they wanted to know something about me, I would just want them to ask me. Maybe they know what they want, but what they want is just more time dependent than a man's line of thinking; so to us, it only appears as though they don't know what they want.

Every view/model of the future seems to be based on growth (whether that be the economy, the strength of companies, quality of life, etc.). This cannot continue forever, but the idea that any aspect of our society will reach an inevitable peak and never cease to go beyond that point does not settle well with many people.

This is very much related to the idea that our population cannot continue to grow forever.
