My question is for everybody else in this thread: why are you continuing to validate this attention whore?

We're supposed to all be amused because he makes some videos calling himself a "villain?" Tell you what, I've got a Flipcam right here. Give me five minutes and I'll be a billionaire inventor superspy.

Whatever your feelings on Phoenix Jones, here's the thing: he acts like the thing he's claiming to be. He's putting on a costume and hitting the streets. You may not agree with his methods or his goals, but he doesn't just get a camera and say "I'm a superhero! Pay attention to me!"

Look, Ryan Cory (I refuse to address you by that stupid name), you have some decent filmmaking skills. And kudos for finding a gimmick to get yourself some attention. But Jones is right: you're the equivalent of a Kardashian, trying to make yourself famous without having to do anything substantial.

Drop this act. Take the small bit of notoriety you've won yourself and use it to get a job somewhere better than Best Buy. Make a movie, or an art installation, or something useful. If you want to keep up this silly bit of performance art, I won't be at all sympathetic when Jones pounds you to a pulp.

At least they didn't say Rubix Cube. That seems to have become the preferred misspelling.

At least OP didn't let it autocorrect to "defiantly."

Back in the 80s I used to love spotting which prop magazines had the same gum ad on the back cover.

Maybe "Let's" chips can become a thing, like the way Oceanic Airlines was a standard fake TV airline long before LOST used it.

I warn you: when Wheeler had a decent artist, the issues were readable at best. The issues drawn by Mike Hoffman, including the "Quest For The Elementals" storyline, are the worst thing DC has ever released.

And DC has let Judd Winick write things.

"Cool, I guess" is the highest praise a hipster can give.

Matango was first mentioned in the 1989 annual written by Steve Bissette. I assumed he was laying groundwork for the Post-Veitch run that Wheeler picked up on.

There was an attempt at a TV reboot in 2003.

I just realized something about the "Community" community by eafkuorin community

[–]owen_birch 4 points5 points ago

There does seem to be at least one post after every episode that follows this pattern:

Headline: Am I the only one who hated this episode? Then a long rant laying out their objections, followed by some needlessly butthurt variant of "the episode discussion thread is nothing but quotes and love for the episode, and I just wanted everyone to know how I feel."

I used to get annoyed by the "stop liking things I hate!" attitudes, but now I find the predictability hilarious. Pro-anti, indeed.

Ah, and there's the needlessly victimized attitude that always accompanies these posts. Never fails.

Isn't it terrible when people refuse to stop liking things you hate?

Ah, it wouldn't be a new episode of Community without the weekly "am I the only one who hated this episode?" thread. Well done, good sir.
