For someone who knows there is no way the god of the bible is real then there is no reason to be religious (I guess by religious you mean Christian) but there could be reasons to pretend to be religious.

It a world where not believing is normal it wouldn't matter. In a world where most people do believe, not saying that you don't can't be a good thing, it probably means you are hiding and you're afraid of your friends / family's reaction. And saying you don't believe doesn't necessarily mean shouting.
