That evolution is some linear process where organisms evolve into something more "advanced" and that the original species just magically goes away when the "advanced" new species appears.

my dad does the same thing. he can program in basic and c++ (he's old). he's a genius in illustrator. and he still double clicks fucking everything. i asked him why and he responded that, "it functions the same as a single click on things that only need one, and this way i don't have to remember which to double and which to single."

once this ginger kid tricked me into buying his pubes (i was a 4th grader at the time and didn't know you had to grow them yourself). when I figured out how I was screwed out of my cash, I devised a plot that ended with me cooking his parents into chili and tricking him into eating it. the baby cried like a little girl when he found out what he had done!

Thank you! In her interview, she actually mentioned that her aunt died of colon cancer a few years ago (and that she has a hereditary type of colon cancer), but I believe that part of the interview was left on the cutting room floor.

My wife (stage 4 colon cancer) loves using caringbridge to vent about what's going on in her cancer world and our friends and family love it too because it helps them feel more in-the-loop.

Also, TakeThemAMeal has been a huge help for us. With the chemo schedule, putting meals together gets hard. We've had great support from friends and family bringing us meals once or twice a week.

The kitchen in the chemo area where my wife goes always has tons of ensure that's free for patients to take home. might be that when you start treatment there will be something like that where you are.

I'm 5'6" and can honestly say it doesn't bother me at all. The only time I think I've ever grumbled about it would be if a girl said something like, "wow, that guy is so hot. I mean, look how tall he is." I'd get a little upset thinking it's unfair, then remember that it's just the girl equivalent of having small boobs. Girls can't really help boob size any more than I can get taller (ok, they can eat a ton or get pregnant, so it's not a perfect comparison). I remember that there are lots of guys who like small boobs too (myself included) and realize that just because there is a general preference for taller men, doesn't make me unattractive.

From a professional side people respect me because I'm smart, I'm competent, and I know it. I don't think my height has ever affected me professionally.

quackwatch is a great place to go. try and figure out where she is planning to go/what she is planning to take. then find out everything you can on it. when you present your data to your loved one, make sure to remember that nobody wants to hear that they are wrong - and if you say it straight out, they can shut down to your help very quickly. Make sure to reassure her that the decision is ultimately hers, but you care - and you might even remind her that you have more invested in her well being than her naturopath (also,you may want to figure out what you can about the person and see if there are other people out there calling him/her a quack)
