Make any game scary by taking out save spots. I felt nothing while playing Amnesia during the night. Try playing the second to last level of The Lion King (SNES) with 0 lives left and not have trembling hands. This is part of the reason Creepers in Minecraft are so terrifying despite the graphics.

By the way, there was no interactive map and thank god for that. Every MMO now days spoils any attempt at immersion by giving everyone a flawless GPS system. In old EQ, there is just you in the world. If you wanna get somewhere, follow trails, learn how to read images of maps online and remember landmarks. Knowledge of an area's geography is a legitimate benefit to your ability to play the game.

This is gonna get buried to the bottom, but please read.

The Everquest that you hear people praising constantly does not exist anymore. In 16+ expansions, the game is a pale shadow of its original greatness. However, you can still experience the good days at project1999.org for free. The population is a bit less that what it used to be but there is still a very active economy and community. Just keep in mind that the early levels and combat system will initially be boring as SHIT to you, but the game isn't about that, hang in there.

Here's the cover of the album they just released.

Yuck, I hate it when that happens. :(

While you claim resurrection and miracles may sound ridiculous 2000 years ago and today, I argue that even though only 73.5% of Christians believe in creationism, 99% believe in Jesus' miracles and resurrection. I went to a christian school, church, church camps and wednesday youth groups until I was 16 and every one I knew in those groups believed that Jesus was divinely resurrected, and back to my original question: Why would that resurrection be plausible while creationism and the old testament miracles aren't.

No, my math is accurate. Polls say that 40% of AMERICANS are creationist (which implies Christian) and that approximately 68% of AMERICANS are Christian. Therefore, 40% of that 68% comes to a proportion of 73.5% of CHRISTIANS are creationists. Since creationist implies Christianity, the probability is already joint.

Both the new and old testament mention miracles. I understand your argument that one is folklore and the other is more of a hard record, but my point has to do with supernatural and divine phenomenon, which is featured in both. Why dismiss the miracles of the old testament but not the miracles of the new? If the New testament has miracles, why not write it off as folklore as well?

The following is only an assumption based on statistics:

68% of Americans are christian, 40% are christian and creationists. That means 73.5% of American (A developed country) Christians are creationists.

73.5% of Christians in 2010 were still creationists, following a literal interpretation of the bible, with all the evidence and science accessible to them to support a 4.5 billion year old Earth.

Christianity in the United States was at about 91% in the 40s, and given that trend, was higher all the way back through history as science was more limited. Therefor, an even higher proportion of Christians were likely subscribed to the literal interpretation.

I am sure there were plenty of Christians throughout history who took the words as allegory, but that is not the case for the vast majority of Christians as a whole.

Also, you still haven't told me which parts of the bible are not to be taken literally. And we might as well fast forward a bit to my follow up question: Why is it okay to dismiss the stories of Noah, Samson, Genesis, Moses in Egypt and Jericho, Jonah and the absurd prophecy in Revelations as myth and parable, but not the resurrection, miracles and divinity of Jesus?

I'm just gonna ignore the first few points because I don't feel like debating about syntax and definitions right now.

Just because St. Paul argued using allegory doesn't mean that the majority of Christians at the time didn't accept it as fact.

By the way, please tell me which parts of the Bible are to be taken literally.

That's a dumb argument and is the basis of the whole flying spaghetti monster joke. Prove there isn't an invisible flying spaghetti monster. Can't? Then it holds equal amounts of weight as Christianity.

You're right, though, philosophically, you cannot prove or disprove either of them, life is black and white in that regard. However, there are probabilities and support for both hypotheses.

Up until recently, the Bible had everyone believe that mankind descended 6,000 years ago. We now have tremendous anthropological, chemical and mathematical evidence, with absolutely no contradiction, that that is false.

The Bible has consistently been taken literally until proven otherwise, and that proof gives me a .99% confidence that the bible is full of shit, and a .01% doubt that I am fallible in this regard.

Don't search for someone on Facebook that you barely know or only know their name.

Facebook will put you on their "People you may know" list and it becomes pretty apparent, puzzling or creepy how you got there.

Place a shortcut to folder on your desktop

Open up its properties

Set a hotkey as either a numpad button or ctrl + alt + _

Set shortcut as hidden

Now you can reach your porn folder/vuze downloads/documents/etc... just by pressing a single button.

What hard truth does Reddit need to hear? by TheJungleVIPin AskReddit

"a musician shouldn't have to rely on constant touring in order to make a living."

"Should" is a subjective term. Since digitalized property have become the norm, music has been based on false scarcity to distribute, but that model is failing. They should create appealing, tangible products in the context of the band if they want money from their fame.

"IT'S NOT YOUR CHOICE TO MAKE."
