'Take it from an ex-addict, outlawing drugs does not work.' by utter_horseshitin australia

There are older examples of decriminalization than Portugal

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_the_Netherlands#Results_of_the_drug_policy

As the Christian right is trying to re-criminalize cannabis there now, crime is already on the rise, if you look at the actual statistics of use and drug deaths it was a successful move.

This has not been the case in countries that have actually attempted decriminalisation.

The "forever alone" as a psychological diagnosis - The excessive use of video games and online porn is creating a generation of risk-adverse guys who are unable (and unwilling) to navigate the complexities and risks inherent to real-life relationships, school and employment. by Loyoverin TrueReddit

[–]supersaw 10 points11 points ago

The whole violent video games leads to violent behavior shouldn't be surprising.

There is no consensus on this issue and I have not seen a single impartial study that conclusively proves that games can cause violent behavior

Placebos can have success rates of over 30 per cent!

Thats bullshit or a poorly worded statement lacking background information.

The placebo effect could be documented only in studies in which the outcomes (improvement or failure to improve) were reported by the subjects themselves. The placebo effect does not have "powerful clinical effects," (objective effects) and patient-reported improvements (subjective effects) in pain are small and could not be clearly distinguished from reporting bias.

First PC build, thought components would come with cables but was wrong(d'oh) , what do i need!! by tinynf89in hardware

[–]supersaw 2 points3 points ago

Your motherboard should have at least one sata cable in the box, the rest of the cables come from the case or power supply and should have been included

I think less and less people will be willing to drop several hundred bucks on a console with a trickle of decent first party games especially if It's to be their primary gaming machine.

Where can I get one of those classic keyboards that are very large and have springy keys? by TekTekDudein hardware

[–]supersaw 1 point2 points ago

The most common keyboards that feature a similarish action these days will be the Cherry MX Blue key equipped keyboards, if you want a similar feel but much quieter I recommend a Cherry MX Brown equipped keyboard.

Personally I like Filco brand mechanical keyboards as they use the nicest keycaps.

He's just dropped a few pegs in my book, for one the same corporate hand is up the ass of the puppets of both parties and the legalised corruption that is the American electorate system is what allows this shitfest to fester.

No end in sight. by deicidiumin socialism

[–]supersaw 0 points1 point ago

I think the fact that the entire election revolves around disconcerting amounts of corporate money is a sick joke, that is the root of the problem.

There's no chance for anyone with a shred of integrity when corruption has been legalised.
