Fear mongering at its best: This was a mailer sent out against my Texas State Rep who has fought to end the TSA by monkeysniffer08in politics

[–]xjvz 0 points1 point ago

Are you sure the TSA agents riding the transit aren't just going to and from work? That's how it is in Chicago where you often see TSA agents on the Blue Line (train) going to O'Hare Airport to or from their jobs. They're not actually on the train to work.

Today I witnessed a CPD officer stop traffic to retrieve a little girl's hat in the middle of a busy intersection and return it to her. What pleasant experiences have you had with the CPD? by Cowboy_Songin chicago

[–]xjvz 10 points11 points ago

One time I was robbed by a couple of sketchy people who stole my money and iPhone, and I was able to get everything back thanks to some CPD officers helping me track it down and catching the assaulters.

No it doesn't. Banks are where people deposit money. If you think everyone is suddenly going to go back to hoarding their own gold, you're sorely mistaken.

Come now, what Windows users actually build their programs from source unless they're developing for them? It's too much a pain in the ass no matter what you do. It's nothing like FreeBSD or Gentoo, for instance, where compiling programs from scratch is typical.

A large debt with faster growth is preferable to a smaller debt sitting atop no growth at all. And it’s infinitely better than a smaller debt on top of a contracting economy by mjk1093in Economics

The old Reaganomics argument about cutting taxes was that with a lower tax rate, people would be more likely to pay their taxes in full rather than seek out loopholes or underreport their incomes. However, one could argue that we've already cut taxes below the peak point of the Laffer curve and further cuts will just decrease revenue.

I thought that was any sans serif font. All the serious websites use serif fonts anyway.

Bassnectar Opts To Bring Own Security To The Congress Theater by thegreatsharkhuntin chicagoEDM

Maybe they won't throw people out for smoking pot. The security at the Congress are a fucking joke and really only enforce arbitrary rules. They don't make it any safer there.

There are tons of pot smokers who smoke cigarettes. They could probably do cross promotions and make a killing!

And Philip Morris could easily be selling cannabis as they do tobacco on a massive scale. They don't have anything to lose over legalisation.

Not really. There are plenty of self-diagnosed "asspies" that are just socially awkward and think they found the answer to their awkwardness.
